e-bay convenient to Seller or Buyer? Ans:Seller !!! - My Suggestions

Dear Indian Team,

I am a regular visitor to e-bay site and often end up buying. My purchase in last week of October taught me lession and made me conclude that e-bay is more convenient to seller than the buyer.

I bought a mobile to be given as Diwali gift. As it used to be with earlier purchases, i expected it to be received in time. But..

Delay started. Communications with seller prolonged. Other buyers from the same seller started contacting me whether I received the product. Feedbacks were turning red for the seller. "The wors BEWARE - FRAUD" appeared in teh feedback. It has become panicly very clear that seller has planned fraud within the loopholes of e-bay policies and practices. Buyer has no protection after payment.

Let me cut short and suggest the following.

1. Seller has given inadequate contact address. No street name, No building name. Phones never responded. If responds, he delays, promises to call back. that never comes. (But Buyer has to furnish correct address to receive the product).

2. There is no pre-validation by e-bay members on seller's address and genuiness - whether selling price is Rs.5 or Rs. 20,000. Sellers should be prevented selling high value items unless their identity is validated. (No validation is required for buyer as he pays first).

3. Seller stated that he is giving free gifts (Who bloody cares for free gifts? ) provided Positive feedback is given. He demands positive feedabck before delivery. He explicitly says "dont write product not received". This practice should be banned. It is black mail. If declined, the buyer will naturally have fear that a junk piece wil be mailed (since he is buying used mobile).

4. Seller asks for reconfirmation of delivery address - another delay tactice.

5. Seller gives list of other products to choose (cliaming that it is the practice). Such offering should be banned.

6.Seller communicates out of e-bay to regd mail id. This should be prevented. All communication should be within e-bay only so that e-bay has access. only intimation should go to regd mail id. Today e-bay does not have anything to check what seller demanded.

7. Finally seller reports there is problem with the piece and allows to choose other products. Further delay. I wonder which buyer will choose and continue the trouble with ingenuine seller.

8. I opened a dispute. So are other buyers. What as buyers we will continue to communicate. coomunicate... without any solace from e-bay team.

e-bay is more comfortable or seller than buyer. Correct?

Mr Gautham - dont you want to change with my suggestions. E-bay has to certainly distinguish between small value and big value of trade and follow different rules.

I aggree some of your points. I am also a seller and there are both good as well as bad to worst sellers at ebay.

But the thing you should do is you should check the from when the seller is been registered at ebay and should check the feedback.

Here if both buyer & seller is honest, the ebay is convenient.

Also a seller has all rights to ask the good feedback IF THE PRODUCT HAS BEEN ALREADY DELIVERED AND ITS IN SATISFACTORY CONDITION.

So if the seller do asks before, then report him to eBay.

Also there is no issues in contacting seller or buyer via email/phone once the order is placed at ebay.

But contacting via eBay is more better than the ebay. ---------------

About the reconfirmation I would say that it is mentioned in every item sold email to a seller from ebay. Confirm the address from the buyer.
Every seller has to verify himself. Either by postal verification or mobile number verification.
I hope you would get a refund from ebay for the payment you made to the seller.
Always try to pay by paisapay or demand draft because both are highly secure and you can easily claim your money if a seller is fraud.
Before you make a large payment always talk on his or her contact number first.
