Here below my observation:

1 - Business with a nominal investment and overhead expenses.
2 - International Exposer.
3 - Strong and healthy community
4 - Security
5 - Users Friendly co-ordinating Staffs

:_|Minus
1 - Lengthy and complicated checkout process.
2 - Lacuna in preventing Frauds (both buyer and seller).
3 - Multilevel surfing to receive the actual information.
4 - Absence of PayPal for International Selling.
5 - Lack of thorough knowledge of CS Representatives.

+ Anyone can sell virtually anything new or old.
+ Great for beginers to start an online business.
+ Good presence and good reach
+ Educating both buyers and sellers on good online business practises.
+ It is Business in a Box

-Minuses
- Ineffective in checking fake buyers.
- International selling not convenient.
- Charging for Gallery which is a very basic feature (should be free as before)
- Live help is for limited hours (should be round the clock)
- Links to leave feedback or report unpaid items are pain in the neck. They take more than 75% of time spent on site.

*Good supporting Community and staffs
*Easy access to buy & sale nationally and internationally
*Insurance against PaisaPay payment
*Very Easy to start even a zero investment business from home / office

--Frauds cheating new buyers thru undelivered high value items
--Cheaters selling very cheap junks at multifold profit as "low" value items with hyped listings
--GALLERY VIEW FEE
--Complicay in operation and Help (at least for new users)
--Absense of physical eBay Cutomer Guidance Representatives (should be at least in all the Metro cities, Trading Assistants are only for Sellers and mostly Business Oriented)

However balancing the weightage of the plus and minus points, to me, eBay has more positives - after all Moon too have dark spots :-D .

1. You have many opportunities with ebay other than hard core selling.

2. Wide Variety available. You name a thing and you have it on ebay.

3. NO investment BIG business, possible.

4. International exposure.

5. You enjoy working on ebay.


:-( 5-NEGATIVES

1. Gallery FEE is a Black spot.

2. Internation Listing FEE is too high. Participation in FREE International promotion is a torture.

3. Live Help is not available round the clock.

4. No ebay office in Metros other than Mumbai.

5. NO learning centres anywhere.

recover money , their trust can never be recovered .

actually are a hindrance for serious sellers
as their products get lost in all
the junk generated
due to the low selling charges

Classic Security : Safety Standards The best
, but again here you find
some ridiculous rules .. established sellers are also
seen with the
same eye as a fly by night operators.

Price Worthiness Of Products : Though you

through research , the chances of
you getting stuck with a low quality ,
grey market item are very high

Minuses 😞

No proper seller varification.

New Sellers not educated about govt. taxes, dutis etc. when shipping out of state or out of country.

No checks on Grey Market/Duplicate items selling

Non-Paying buyers (Either non-serious buyer or dont't know how to pay) Integrated checkout required.

Outstation buyers able to select local shipping charges

VAT not charged in many orders (Problem in software) =============
