Suggestion for enabling an option for testing product before being shipped

Hi

I had recently bought a USB drive from one of ebay seller.
The drive was defective and had to shipped back to seller for replacement.
It involved cost for me (as consumer) and seller also.
I had requested the seller to test the product before being shipped , replaced one.
I would request ebay to enable a option during purchase like

a. Would you like your product to be tested by seller before shipping Yes or No (Radio option)

I think it would be convenient for both seller and buyer.
This is suggestion which ,I think will be useful and can be incorporated by ebay with modification (in clause) if any required.

Regards
Saurabh

Suggestion for enabling an option for testing product before being shipped

I have recently sold a Flash Drive. I recorded the testing of the drive to prove the Flash Drive works well by a videocamera and packed and sent it. Testing and packing was videographed before shipping. The fact of videograph was also informed to buyer. The buyer reported that the drive did not work. I got it back from him. I recorder by video from opening the package to testing and found that the drive was working well. I informed the buyer and sent back the Flash Drive. He again complained not working. I sent the video clip and requested him to watch. He refused to watch and he wanted to believe only his eyes. I understood that the buyer changed his mind and wanted to return the Flash Drive by one means or other. I reported to eBay for future watching and refunded. My presumption is that this buyer has changed his mind due to some reason or other and wanted refund. The eBay should have procedure to watch such evidence and ban such member to improve seller's confidence.

Another buyer snapped the cable by careless use in a solar charger but blamed on seller and left negative feedback without informing the seller. I requested him to send back the cable to give replacement. The buyer refused to send and wanted another new replacement cable and also refused to revise feedback.

Another buyer snapped the cable and left negative feedback. I requested him to send back, but he claimed he repaired it and using it. After pursuading him, he revised the feedback.

Few members have separate eBay ID for buying and selling. They buy and analyse the product and return to seller claiming defect and leaving negative feedback. If they found good they buy from other source and sell the product.

Few competitive sellers harness the help of friends and ask them to buy competing product from other seller and return them with negative feedback. Thus spoiling the business of his competitor.

The seller has given elaborate conditions of warranty. The seller should be made responsible only to honour the warranty he has provided. But the eBay never bothers about what the seller says, it sticks to one poicy that eBay never wanted to question any customer but directs the seller always to negotiate with buyer for replacement or refund. There is not even a place to give negative feedback against the buyer.

Thus if the buyer breaks or abuses and makes the item not working, the blame is always thrown on seller. This is very bad for good business. So video clipping of content, testing for functions and features and packing should be accepted as proper evidence for any decisions.

The eBay may kindly take note of all these mischievous and cantankerous technique and provide procedures to analyse the evidence from both the sides and decide the case.
