Dear Community Members,
Lately, some of our community members have expressed concern that the eBay team is not listening to them and they feel that the personal touch with eBay team has been lost. The main concerns as we have understood are as follows:
1. eBay processes different from Baazee and difficult to understand
2. Lack of communication between eBay and users
We will try to address the concerns here:
eBay processes vs. Baazee - We totally understand your concern that you are now required to work in a new and unfamiliar environment, which is significantly different than what it was earlier on Baazee. We also appreciate that Indian markets have their own set of differences, and we are trying our best to make suitable changes in the site for the convenience of Indian users. However, while making the changes, we also need to keep in mind that any change will affect users across 32 countries, and given this fact, it will not be as easy to make changes as it was earlier.
We continuously make changes to the site to make it easier for our users to trade. Some of the changes we have introduced lately include changes to the invoice and View Account Status pages to make it easier for sellers to find information on fees and credits, launch of Selling Manager Pro (SM Pro), and more. You can find information about all the important site changes on the
Announcement Board. The latest 3 announcements, along with a link to all announcements, are also available in My eBay and on the Community Home Page.
eBay not listening to Users - We will like to assure you that we are very much here and listening to you. The objective of Community Development team is to understand issues that the community, at large, is facing and escalate the same to the respective departments for action. In order to increase the communication between community and internal team, we are trying to involve various team members in interacting on the boards, and understanding your issues firsthand.
We recently conducted an Open House session with Gautam Thakar, Head categories and marketing. After receiving your feedback, Gautam is working with the relevant teams to address your issues. However, as Gautam mentioned, it will take some time before the changes start reflecting. We plan more such sessions, involving Management Team members and employees from various functions, in the near future. In fact, in the month of June, one staff member will be present on the boards daily to read, understand and respond to your issues. We encourage you to take this opportunity to interact with us and provide us your feedback.
Some of the issues we have heard from you, and that we are working on are:
1. Outstation buyers selecting local shipping option
2. Impersonal 'Cut & paste' responses from eBay for user queries
2. Attracting more buyers
4. Increased Support for Power Sellers
We shall keep you posted on the developments on these.
We will like to assure you that anything that concerns you is an equally important concern to us. We look forward towards continuously getting your feedback and improving the site for you.
Warm Regards,
Sapana
