Seller Feedback on Search Result and Listing page - your feedback requested

Dear Users,

In order to help our buyer with better information on seller feedback, we have launched a new customisable option, by which the buyer can choose to display seller’s feedback on the search result and listings page. The seller’s Feedback score will appear directly underneath the item title / subtitle. It will appear like this:



As of now this feature is optional. However, we have received feedback from some sellers that this feature should be made available by default so that all buyers could benefit. At the same time, some users feel that having this feature by default will hurt the interest of new sellers with low feedback.

We will invite you as a buyer / seller to participate in this debate and give your views on the same.
• Do you think having the feedback information on the search page by default will benefit a buyer and help in his buying decision?
• Do you think it could adversely affect new users with low ratings?

DEFAULT ..... no other way as buyer interest in knowing the feeback is most importamt and they should be respected and shown at first glance the exact picture ...

the buyers here are not finding the time to even study closely the technical details mentione in the site ... how can anybody think they will spend 10-12 hours learning about ebay and customizing every view and things ...

if ebay think tank is of the opinion that buyers spend a lot of time learing and going to the community board

THEN LET THE FEEDBACK OPTION REMAIN BY DEFAULT WITH AN OPTION TO TURN IT OFF

AND THEN ANNOUNCE IN THE COMMUNITY BOARD THAT IT CAN BE TURNED OFF

Hello,
It should be default...coz no buyer have time for searching new facility n testing them, and most of the buyers are new to ebay and so its very less possible that they will use the said feature while searching products.

I am a new user on ebay and today is my first visit to the community boards.

for starters i was not even aware that there was an option to check sellers feedback on the items page itself!!

As a buyer it would definitely benefit me as it will make shopping much more easier with clear indication of seller% of feedback.

Even if seller has a small number of feedback like 18 but if it is 100% the small number does not affect him.

and anyways if it is not a default option i am sure none of the buyers would be even aware of the feature hence making it pretty much useless.

I disasgree with the view that the buyers only view the Ratings while buying ... but the price and payment modes offered also count.

Like ..

IF a new user like me is offering Paisa Pay there will be obviuosly some buyers for the product. Also initially till the ratings reaches uptill 10-15 life is a little difficult.

Having the feedback on the search page wont create much difference to this fact. ... But it surely does some justice to the sellers who have worked hard for their ratings.

Also on the listing page the icon for the user (seller) being registered for less than 30 days should be given (when applicable). This will help more ...

Well, high ratings do create a good impression about the seller.But it seems some fraud sellers take advantage of this. Example, one seller has very high ratings,but if you read those positive comments, they are from buyers who've bought low price items, and who knows these buyers maybe personally known to the seller and just oblieging him by giving high ratings. I ordered for a mobile handset from same seller and havent received it till date, and the seller ignores my calls.

The Seller's rating along with Percentage should be DEFAULT. So that buyers do not go for fraud sellers who have very low Percentage.

I would disagree with you about buyers view -

The Buyer would check the feedback received and also they would check your Percentage reputation of success. The buyer would always want to purchase from sellers who have good percentage of success whether low ratings or very high ratings to avoid risk of loosing money.

ITS A VERY GUD IDEA,AT LEAST THIS WILL END THE RULE OF FALSE SELLERS(SO MANY OF THEM ON EBAY).
BUYER WILL BUY FROM A TRUSTED SELLER AND IT WOULD BENIF BOTH THE BUYER AND SELLER

AS FAR AS NEW SELLERS,THEY CAN MAKE UP GUD RATINGS,BY THEIR SERVICE AND GUD QUALITY PRODUCTS,ONCE THEY RECEIVE EVEN 1 OR 2 EXCELLENT RATINGS,I DONT THINK SO BUYER WILL BE HESITATING FROM BUYING FROM THEM.
MY ONLY PURPOSE IN SAYING THE ABOVE WORDS ARE WE WANT TO MAKE EBAY A SAFE PLACE,BOTH FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS.
