Hello,
Buying limits is a very correct and essential feature. I do not know the limits but from going through this discussion it seems that the limit is 5 bids if a member is less than 1 month old.
If this it the limit, I beleive it is very correct. Currently buyers treat auction like game and bid on several products without any intention of buying them.
On my selling id, I have faced this problem many times. When I call up buyers of sucessfull auctions, the standard response was "I have bid on a lot of simmilar products and I am waiting to see how those auction goes"
So after paying a lot of listing enhancements fees and the auction reaching my expected price, everything goes down teh drain.
Hence this limits have to be in place.
As for you O.P., why do you need to place bids on 3 auctions of the same product? If you win all 3 would be buying all 3? This does no happen in advanced markets where sellers do as many as 10 auctions of the same product all ending on the same day. Buy buyers only bid on 1 acution as they know that if they win the auction, they have to pay for it.
Sir, if you need to buy more than 5 products, you can very well buy all of them on BIN (Buy it Now), the limits are placed only on auctions. The low value products (699 + 1000) which you have referred could easily have been bought on BIN at a nominal difference.
Yes, the rediff solution is best but eBay is not prepared for this. IT is not even prepared for a PaisaPay veriication of buyer, even as a option. It has only gone as far as SMS verification.
Till the UPI rate come down from the current rate 60% for auctions, such restrictions are absolutely neccessary.
