Discussion on Rating system adapted by Ebay.
I am a seller at ebay now and was a agressive buyer for 4 year (even bazee days)
I feel the feedback system is a good mechanism to judge the performance of the buyer or the seller.
I have few questions to put:
1. Why cant a seller give a negative/neutral rating to buyer? Even they default in payment/Communication etc.
2. Before a buyer could rate a seller, why dont ebay provide a proper trainig of what a negative rating is?
I have personally come accross situations where customers had put negative without knowing what a negative feedback can do? there is no mechanism to separate product and seller rating. All is clubbed in to one.
I think ratings system is more favourable to buyers than sellers.
A seller should be rated on two things:
1. Product
2. Seller services
The above are 2 diffent things. while the product can land late or damaged but the seller can do a lot with his services to correct the situation. Like re-sending, communication etc.

How about invisible rating for buyer?
Present system works, but you need training to evaluate a buyer for cancellation of bid.
I am not really unhappy, but ebay India needs to be more proactive. Ebay India listing fees are very very high. Though I am very very happy with current FVF. That is why I invite committed buyers to transact from here. Re 1 free shipping is a bogus idea. Ebay India must realise that this is 21st century. One Kilo bad potato costs 15 bucks.It is not possible to fool buyer. But ebay India thinks otherwise.

ebay is provide rating program for courier provides. It gives an idea to seller for faster devdlievery

EBay is selfish portal. They do not care sellers earn 1% or 2% margin and ebay want to keep almost 10% and still we must give free shipping. if buyer feel product is not as expected he get full refund and even if we do not get back product there is no seller protection. And lots of risk involved and on top of that expensive shop charges and ebay fees.
EBay is buyer and self oriented platform.
