Product and Fees Changes on eBay.in..Sellers - Happy or Unhappy?

Well I was
going through this announcement where I have seen various changes have done. But
when I saw Ebay wants Gallery and Listing Designer as chargeable I was really
unhappy. My fellow sellers what are your views about this ? R u Happy or Unhappy
? Do you think Gallery and Listing Designer need to be feesable to us ? My
views about Gallery And Listing Designer :

Reason : If
a seller is selling 2000 products will he choose gallery and listing designer on
1st April ? Answer is NO. Sales will go down. Fake buyers are in bulk in India.
Buyers are not in bulk and quantity of good buyers is very low.

I need my fellow
sellers views too. Plz reply to this thread with your views specifying the
reason . This change will be effective from 1st April,2006. Ebay - R u making
our April fool or what:-(:_|X-( ??

Before my previous post, I did not read the final verdict as I was browsing through the page 3 in the reverse order.

Maybe I needed to explain on my suggestion of the 7-day free / 15-day free charged gallery listings. If by paying these fees we know that our listings would be live for a longer period allowing buyers to browse through for their requirements within a longer time frame, then the pinch would be softer... you see...

Keeping on paying for items that did not sell (for whichever reason) every week does not make sense. And who said eBay is not charging us for letting us use their features? The other enhancing features are already chargeable. Charging LD would still not be that big a problem, but gallery (i consider) as a basic tool alongwith the insertion itself.

Lets not forget that all non-selling items are not useless (though many would be). And like I explained in my last post that the whole genuine inventory (say of a 1000 items) for a seller is not going to attract successful transactions in each week. eBay has already restricted multiple listings from 10 to 5 which is a good step - APPRECIATED. This will definitely help clear the clutter to some extent.

But do not make a mistake of considering the sellers opposing the changes as those selling useless items or no-value-for-money items. The whole point of opposing was that gallery feature is a basic feature which was expected by most of us to stay free FOR EVER. Since you've already ruled your verdict, you may consider increasing the duration of the live listing to ATLEAST 15 if not more for sellers to get their worth back. If not, then as someone quoted a hotelier saying "The pinch is not too much, but enough for you to give a foothold to pinch & pinch in future till others bleed".

And oh BTW, your decision of NOT FLOATING THE GALLERY ITEMS ABOVE the ones without an image is appreciable - do not change it.

115 listings - 13 sales - 3 fulfilments - total amount collected Rs. 1350/- total cost for items 1100/- ebay fees paid - 50/- paisapay fees paid 34.50. out of the two hundred bucks profit i am have earned - if the new listing charges are introduced - 45 bucks down the drain.. my prift share 155/- of which i need to meet the electricity charges / internet charges etc... what do i eat ultimately..??? grass ??

Gallery & List Designer are essential stuff for any listing. It is so sad that they have decided to go ahead and implement what they said. I don't have any other choice... My listing will be without gallery and list designer here after. I cant definitely afford to pay Re. 2250/- per month for gallery & list designer other than the already spend Rs.5000/- per month. 



Cant help it. Buyer will have to see my listing without image in the listing. Thanks for this huge 1st birthday gift.

4. Value of Community
= Zero

After struggling for 24 days the Community was left high & dry.

ebay must have put in all their brains to arrive at this
decision.

But ....then they could have taken this decision of their own.

Why did they kept on asking the feedback from the
Community.....on this issue ?

It seems they wanted 800-1000 replies against levying of New
Fees......

...........95 replies to this post was not enough to change
their mind.

Its seems ebay has no value for the Community.

We all spend so much time here....... just to make this site
grow well.

I can understand that levying of Gallery fee would have been a
hard decision for ebay.

But ....what about Listing Designer fee ? It was not at
all necessary.

Its just to generate more revenue without giving any value for
money to the Seller.

Abolishing the Designer fee could have made COMMUNITY feel that
it has a SAY in decision making.

Even reducing it from 20 paisa to 10 paise would have made the
Community HAPPY.

Conclusion

eBay
- Happy

Community - Un-happy

Hi,

Its really disheartening to see that the community has no value to eBay.

As eBay put on Gallery fees and listing fees there will be numerous sellers who will exclude those services as the selling rate is too poor in ebay.in

So we are now doomed to see Numerous Listing without Gallery view
* making the site more dull in looks
* Tougher to recognise the fraudulent / bad sellers whom we used to avoid by recognising them from the Gallery photos.
* Much more time consuming to find out the best possible product as we have to view too many views
Loss of genuine first buyers as no one will have the urge to buy something with a green camera icon.


Let's see how eBay gains by those.

Lastly, its no use going on witting if ebay is so ignorant about those.

whoz gonna thrive..and whoz gonna suffer....we know that already... with over 15 sales in last month, only 5 are fulfilled..effectively making it 30% fulfilment, that too all low value products whoz total comes upto 2500/-
