Powerseller Minimum sales of 20,000/- !!!

Hello everyone,
I don't understand why I have still not gotten my POWERSELLER Certificate ??
Also why is eBay not giving discounts on listing fees and on other transactions ?? Aren't we the guys who provide the major chunk of income and also keep our customers happy and make them buy from us again and again ??
To top it all ..... I see today on 27/09/2007 that the powerseller minimum selling criteria has been raised for bronze sellers to 20,000!!!! A jump from 5000 - 20,000/- Rs is astronomically high I must say.
Any of my fellow sellers & powersellers have something to say about this ?? I am certainly not happy about this kind of move by eBay 😞

So now you can become a PowerSeller by selling goods worth just 700 a day. And you don't even need to get paid for those measly Rs.700/- a day transactions.

My PanWala and Chaiwala does buiness many times that amount per day.

Yes, now its a great thing to aspire for. PS.

Do I call this a joke? Please increase the criteria to minimum Rs.1,00,000/- or Rs.50,000/- at the earliest.

More than 80% of your powersellers do not have a landline number or someone who can answer the telephone during working hours. Are they into business or just kidding around?

Yes, these guys can be called casual sellers but PowerSellers ????

Mr. Posting ID, are you a power seller or a seller on eBay ?? First of all I don't think sarcastic comments are required here on eBay. I always thought eBay is a good community to bring in new sellers, encourage them and share ideas with each other.
But then there will always be people like Mr. Posting here who think they are above all LOL.
As for your 50,000/- or 1,00,000/- Rs minimum I think it is already there in the form of silver, gold platinum and titanium power sellers, am I right ??
I think you must be living in the stone age still talking about land line numbers during office hours. Who needs land lines with mobile phones on for 24 hours a day !!!

Dear eBay India Team,

I request you to reconsider this policy change.

Even eBay.com is kept a limit $1000 for joining PowerSeller program, which is 38000 in Rupees in real value.

For country like India, so many people are living with as small as less than a $1 income daily.

The 20,000 policy will wipe out many good sellers from PowerSeller program, who are genuine and doing small business and good service. This is going to bring down the quality of the business process, so sellers below 20000 average not going give good service, any way they don't get PowerSeller Status, even if they work hard.

I do agree that 5,000 is low, better make it 10,000 instead of jumping the limit in four fold.

Look like eBay is going to keep only jewelery sellers, what about rest of us ?. Even Business Badshah (Bad-Shah's ?) contest Laptop's are won by jewelery sellers, i am not happy about that, equal opportunity is not given for all. Kindly note because we also here, they are getting business. If no variety no sales.

Don't trash the small ants for supporting big Elephants.

So don't try to trash us out ....

You seem to have misread. I said most PS are not running their ebay business as a business. They are running it like a hobby.

I would like to ask you, do you know of any coroporate body maybe except the mobile phone service providers which function without a landline phone?

I purchased an item from a PS yesterday, paid for it by PaisaPay but wanted to discuss about the product and the possibility of buying many more products from him. The only number available was a mobile number. First he did not pick it up. Finally when he did pick up the phone, he said he is too busy to talk and will revert only after 1-2 days.

If you are a business you have to have someone who will answer the phone during office hours or have Vacation Setting enabled on your ebaY Shop.

This was a PS with almost 1000 ratings.

Yes, I am sarcastic, if you like but tell me which sustainable business has a turnover of just 20 K? At such a low figure you are part time seller, a hobbyist but a PowerSeller?

I do agree that many sellers are doing eBay part time. How much do you think we can earn from selling 20,000 worth of goods sold in eBay per month ?. Do you think that's good enough for us run our life to attend customer calls ?.

PowerSeller is a honor for a good seller, regardless he is doing full time or part time, as long as the product as in description and customer is happy.

Sorry to say, we don't include the extra costs like incoming mobile call charges, etc in our item cost + the time we spend to speak with customers. Incase if emergency you can call seller, like if your pack is broken while receiving from courier, or if you are out of station and no internet access to say your payment is delayed cases are fine. General enquirers we welcome only via message, it is easy and convenient for us.

Everything is in listing, if you have doubts about item, you can always send message to a seller, he can answer with in 12 hours if he is good seller.

I havent received it either ..I have been a PS since almost 8 months now..you keep writing them and they wouldnt listen to you. I have lost all hopes ...so I would suggest concentrate on your sales rather than waiting for your Certificate ... LOL

I tried to sell my last thread for a month.3 days left and I did only 12k and that includes my best ruby at less than half price.
And what do I sell?Mostly stamps and collectables.
