PaisaPay Fee Revision! 4% is too high!

Hi All,

The PaisaPay fee (which has revised to 4%) is too high.

Making Online Bank Transfer from 2% (inclusive of taxes) to 4% + Taxes as applicable is certainly makes expensive for
sellers.

PaisaPay team should charge for buyers. The prices will be hiked by all the sellers and thus this will result to less sales as compared to the local market (main target will be high value products).

I am feeling that seller will become a total bakara (Listing Fee, FVF, PaisaPay Fee with no sales).

PaisaPay has removed the service of UTI NetBanking, They are not even interested in adding more payment gateways. ---------------

I guess ebay is just looking for profits by increasing everything!! First, gallery fee, then listing fees. Recently, the criteria for powersellers changed to 20,000rs and now this!! Paisapay comission of 4.5%(for both credit cards and online banking)is too much, and where did taxes come in from when it was not introduced before in the paisapay fees??

I thought the management gurus in such a top class mnc would go through the problems of the sellers before making such a change.I guess the power sellers would be most affected, coz their target would be 20k from now on and such a small change could bring money to their pockets(ebay) from a lot of sellers!!

Well, paisapay is the best method for payment, but i guess i have to remove this method for the time being and use other better methods of payment.

I love eBay . I simply like the way they are handling all this. First they announced a 4 fold increase for PowerSellers which I am told will make ebay 'concentrate' on few real powersellers. That way they also will save some money overall from sending out the packaging material, administartion effort amongst other things. Superb plan .

After all , with decrease in core live auctions falling to 50% from 260k auction, how else can Ebay India meet the targets but to go for EXTORTING money through Paisapay.

And I adore their love for high value sellers, this extortion can be higher and they will easily meet the set targets which are otherwise is difficult to meet .They will also get the pat from their bosses from America. Congrats in advance.

Ebay India wants just Rs 15 for international listing as they cant come up in normal search in some countries in Europe and because they have no technical on-the-fly translation to local languages like spanish , German etc. I love eBAy to be so considerate and accommodating.

Now in such poor times what else ebay do except these mild extortion from what they think as super-rich sellers.

EBay also is very understanding in creating a 'system' which we can always blame for as we Indians are so used to .

I am sure eBay knows that some few posts will be here on the forums resenting this raise but than everything will be a system. Wow , I love eBay .

The managers are doing everything that is not taught in the business schools. What improvisation and applied localization ! Moment of Genius, isn't it ?

I love eBay . Now I will be paying up the 'protection money' to ebay . I love them for being so understanding and helpful.

And in few days all I will say, looking at my diminishing profit, the system is at fault not mine.

Kudos Ebay ! Great Job done . Keep going.

Dont worry eBay, what ever these guys say I will support you.

Dear All,

Too Much is Too Much!!

Ebay's target to meet its expectations by 2010 will be achieved by 2008 itself.

Same as what they have achieved in china, ebay China is closed coz no sellers to sell products. What will buyers surf the ebay site for???

There are other portals in India which offers a flat percentage of 5% which also includes the credit card transactions, and they are doing good business & better than ebay.

Instead of increasing the paisapay fees ebay should have looked to improve the functionality of paisapay as per today it runs in a bullock cart. One high value transaction takes 4 days to clear, 50% of transactions are rejected due to buyers verification problem. Even when the buyer is sending the document, paisapay claims the documents not received.

Check prices of the products sold on ebay and compare them with the same products on another portals you will find a comparable difference and they are at the lower side. Than who will come to ebay to buy???? When buyers are getting equal amt of security from other portals than why rely on eBay????

Are we approaching towards the end of this portal?????

Hello,

Now I have followed the Game Plan as to why a 4 Fold increase in the Power Seller Criteria was announced.

This was purely to please existing Power sellers in the bracket of Silver & Gold status .... with Sales of over Rs.1,00,000 per month.

That's because ebay had a greater JHATKAS in store for these Sellers .... in the form of increased PaisaPay Charges.

Power Sellers with lower Sales of less than 20,000 won't be affected much by this PaisaPay charges of 4.5% but for high value Sellers it would definitely take a chunk out of their Profits.

Great Job. .

It indeed is baffling
why the OBT charges have seen such a steep increase ?
We were expecting an increase in paisa pay fees since customer support and other features were introduced
and also paisa pay in general as per my evaluation is top class service.
but what is pinching for most is the steep rise in OBT fees.

Hi All,

From eBayโ€™s perspective I can share with you the teamโ€™s reasons on why they wanted to revise the PaisaPay fee. Over the past two years, the cost of operations for PaisaPay has significantly gone up. The obvious ones, as also acknowledged by you are improved customer service and cool new features that had been added to PaisaPay. Features like increasing Buyer Protection for PaisaPay transactions helped us increase a buyerโ€™s confidence eBay and we saw an increase in high value transactions on eBay. The Immediate Payment Required functionality played an important role in helping our sellers in reducing their UPI rates. The eBay Gift Vouchers for PaisaPay transactions should further help us in increasing the business on site and for our sellers.

However, the cost that is often not so apparent to our sellers but attributes to a large cost for a payment service provider like PaisaPay is the chargeback costs. Newspapers have often covered the huge losses (at times running into crores) that some airline companies had to face because of fraudulent usage of credit cards and ensuing charge backs. We believe in completely protecting our sellers from any chargeback risks because such losses (even in 10% of cases) can significantly set back a sellerโ€™s business. While we already have a strong risk mitigation system, we are committed to investing in better risk mitigation systems to ensure that our users have a seamless experience while our sellers are protected from any fraud.

Some of you have mentioned the concern about the revised price for OBT and the need to add more banks to the system. Industry wide it has been noticed that 80% of online payments happen via credit card, while OBT account for a very small number of transactions. Given this trend it seems that investing in improving credit card usage (including risk mitigation, new ways to pay via Credit Card etc) will get better returns for our sellers.

Also, we are completely aware that PaisaPay can add a lot more value to our sellers and buyers and we are actively seeking out those opportunities. We have a huge range of initiatives lined up that we think will help us row the business for our sellers. You will hear about them shortly.

Sapana

PaisaPay Fee Revision! 4% is too high!

Hello,

Increase charges -> Improve bottomline,

drives sellers to seek other opportunities -> drop in business -> decrease in bottomline.

Does anyone think for a momemnt that 4.5% gateway charges are sustainable in today's competitive market?

Well, if yes, than some more added revenue to the site.

Otherwise why take such a step which can impact business seriously?

For me, I have stopped listing non core items. Some 100 odd listings off the site. From an inventory of 1000 + products I am down to 15-25 odd products.

Who wants to keep on listing for less and less returns with more and more tension (TnS)?

Lets see how other sellers take it. If what I have done continues, than from the 30,000 odd core site paid lisitngs, we may see it drop to 20,000 - 25,000 and unique products would be no more than 10,000.

AT just 10,000 can ebay.in be truly called a marketplace?
