Thanks for your post and positive comments on some of our efforts.

With reference to the 3 issues which we need to take attention are absolutely correct and they are also in the order of priority.

On SNP there are lots of suggestions for various sellers and in the past we did make few changes, however we feel we need to change this significantly in such a way that genuine sellers are able to provide proof

Most services of ODR India are free and numbers of users who use their services are very few.

Multiple Listings is a problem, however it was a huge problem and in the last 3-4 months the number of sellers violating have reduce. There are no system tools which detect multiple listings and have to be manually reviewed hence one would find sellers doing multiple listing and it’s a challenge to us as a user would get an impression that nothing is being done. The problem is compounded by users creating genuine Multiple ID’s and we are reviewing on how we can control it if they are created only for the policy loop hole. To address this problem we need to address the reason why users create multiple listings and once we give the solution without the need for multiple listings and we are focusing our energies on it. As this moment I would not be able to give what are solutions we are working on as they are being conceptualised

Dear snrama

We are aware of email spam happening from users and in the last month we have done lots of fixes and have seen a drop in the number of incidences. We have now built a tool which detects spam most of the time and I agree we need to do more in this area and hopefully you would see improvements in the coming months

Hello Mr. Sharat Digumarti !

I had bought a cell Phone From EBAY, where I was
committed a Warranty of One Year, i had paid the full
money and in turn got the product which hardly worked
for 40 days, later on 4th April '06 the same was sent
back to seller as there was software problem, I had
received the phone back on 28th June '06 and seller
sent it back without repairs and pretended as if the
problem was resolved, on recival of parcel I
immediately called seller that you sent the phone back
after such a long time and that to the problem is
still same he asked me send the phone back with all
the accessories and original packing and committed
that either he will replace the piece or will provide
the phone of some other brand, as per the conversation
I had sent it back to the seller on 30th June '06 and
till date the problem is unresolved, I neither
received the replacement nor phone of any other brand.

I am sure that there is some Manufacturing defect 'coz
of which the problem will reoccur, I requested seller
to replace the phone or provide the phone of some
other brand, if he being the authorized distributor is
unable to resolve the problem then imagine how
difficult will it be for a customer to get the handset
serviced in Rajasthan.

I am really upset with the attitude of dealer, i have
spent so much money on postage and follow-ups but
still the problem is unresolved, these kind of sellers
definitely throw a picture that shopping from your
site is not advisable.

Pls look into this and take the necessary action.

I further request you to ensure that you send all the requisite documents on time, thereby enabling the team to process your claim faster

I have asked my team to investigate the id you mentioned and take appropriate action and in future when you notice any such suspicious user please report it to us

Message: I had won the above item in e-bay auction ended 28.01.06 and paid thro' paisa pay ID no. 16280426821 on 30.01.06. However, the seller neither sent me the item, nor refunded the money. I had started a claim procedure, in time, on e-bay, but e-bay just posted the issue on "awaiting reply from seller" and thereafter UNILATERALLY CLOSED THE CASE, WITHOUT ANY REPLY OR ANY RESOLUTION. i had tried to contact seller SEVERAL TIMES, thro' messages sent thro' e-bay, BUT HE HAS NEVER RESPONDED (E-BAY MAY CHECK ALL MY MESSAGES FROM TIME TO TIME). EVEN, AS PER E-BAY PORTAL, THE SELLER IS NO MORE AN ACTIVE SELLER.

IN THIS CASE, I COULD GATHER THAT E-BAY SELLERS HAVE CHOICE OF EITHER SENDING THE PRODUCT, SOLD IN AUCTION OR JUST CHOOSE TO RETURN THE MONEY RECEIVED. THIS ASPECT IS BEING UTILISED BY THE SELLER IN SUCH A WAY THAT WHENEVER, THE FINAL AUCTIONED RATE IS LESS PROFITABLE, THEY ARE FREE TO RETURN THE MONEY. THE ABOVE CASE IS ONE SUCH CASE.

E-BAY WAS INFORMED OF SUCH POSSIBILITY, BUT THEY HAVE NOT TAKEN ANY ACTION, SO FAR.
