One gram Gold - Bought a ring for my mom

BRAND NEW ONE GRAM GOLD SIZE-14 FINGER RING AMERICAN DIAMOND CUBIC ZIRCONIA F337
I have bought a brand new one gram Gold ring to my mom.This item purchased on March .
Now its april,now itself the item is becoming whithish.
Its mentioned like "Plated with 24 Karat Gold & Rhodium Polish so that the Polish stays for really Longer time." ...
But I dont think 1 month time and my mom is using this ring very occasionally ,its the time taken to loose its color.

Then why its mentioned like the polish stays for longer time.
what I can do now ?
