Sir, this is pathetic state of affairs all over India, why only WB, even in Maharashtra I am not able to send my ADSL modem for warranty replacement to Delhi or Mumbai because of the foolish octroi rule. Whenever I order something from ebay the octroi people NEVER consider the invoice value. I bought a small pocket radio for my son costing 149/- and octroi valuation was done for 1000/- can you believe that !!!. I get free promotional material from my suppliers like bags, caps and pens stands which are sent absolutely free and are of no commercial value by the company and even that is valued at 2000/- or 3000/- and I have paid octroi on that.
Am I proud to be an India........
When our govt is not interested in welfare of its citizens and has done nothing for 60 yrs what do you expect ebay to do ??.

That will not help, First the seller will have to send an sales invoice to the buyer, the buyer then along with the invoice will have to fill form 50 in triplicate and this has to be stamped from sales tax office with some fees and those 3 copies along with the stamped invoice has to be sent back to the seller who will in turn keep 1 copy and send the other 2 along with the new invoice and the original stamped copy with the consignment. Tell me in which country on this planet such draconian rule exists for send material within the country. See China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan postal service and rates, they put India to shame.

You can always request the seller to list with EMI option and I am sure the seller will not refuse. Just try, what do you lose.
