No delivery to west bengal?

Hi..there are quite a few buyers wanting to buy things from ebay who are located in west bengal..but many many products..especially electronics are not shipped to west bengal due to some form 50. Shouldnt ebay do something about it so as to these products can be shipped? I have been browsing a lot of items and whenever i make up my mind for someting..voila~! it doesnt ship to wb!

Ya we are proud to call ourself Indian. I bought 2 laptops 5 months back one from Delhi and the other from Mumbai, the mumbai seller was like bloody Superman, i paid and just 2days after that, it was in my hand. I don't know how, but it was the fastest service i got on ebay ever. The other guy said me to get Form-50 from sales tax office here in Kolkata. I missed my college for the whole thing. Went to the stupid wretched building called sales tax office. i went there and i was like thrown from one table to another like a pinball game. after 6 hours of fight and 800rupees in cash. I literally lied to the superiors that it was a broken laptop that my frnd was sending for repairing then i got the Form-50 signed by the officer. But i didn't get it in hand, the junior officer asked 6000 rupees from me to hand it over. I said loudly "kidnap me and ask for ransom from my parents, maybe they'll give. But i don't have any more money left", the guy became ashamed of himself and gave it to me. the clerks said that i was a student so they gave it so early other-wise it takes like 3-4 weeks to get the Form signed. Then again i had to speed post the form to my seller which costed double the odinary courier rates. I spent almost 2000 rupees extra on my product.
This is our state, and this is India which even allows such stupid taxation rules to be passed.Now i see that no seller ships anything to west bengal. What is our fault that we are being harrased like this ?

Now i can't buy anything i like from ebay just because of these stupid rules. I think ebay should take votes or signatures from all the buyers and sellers from west bengal and send it to our so called CHEAP MINISTER. She's literary looting us like this. and there will never be and development in this state no matter who comes or goes. If the people can't be happy, how can the state or country be happy ?

Hi,

If you send parcel with company name then forms are required. If you send parcel with persons name i.e. individual's name then no form required here.

It does not the matter if it is in company name or personal name, it is a matter of the total amount of purchase allowed by West Bengal Govt.

If your invoice value exceed that amount then form 50 is mandatory otherwise the sales tax people have full right to seize the item, likewise if you under invoice the product and send and if it is checked then you will be held guilty for under invoicing, the product will be seized and legal proceeding will be initiated aganist you for fraud.

This is the situation in West Bengal. Only its people can do something about it if at all.
