MEMORY PROBLEM ON CHINESE MP4 PLAYERS

When the mp4 player is initially connected to the computer, the computer will interpret the memory size wrongly. For example if you connect a 2 gb mp4 player the firmware will show the memory size as 2015 m which the computer interprets as 2015 megabyte or 1.96 gb because it will see 2015 m as 2015 megabyte but it is actually 2015 megabit. It will not show 2 gb because some memory will be taken up by the firmware. But once you format the player in the computer, it will show the real memory size. That's the reason why you people get low memory once you format it and the sellers will tell don't format the player.

This problem is rampant now-a-days. Hope the buyers will be alert. Also hope that eBay will do something against this cheating (where some sellers are also getting cheated unknowingly). .

Seller tries to play around with English language by assuming their own interpretation. It is high time that Ebay's Trust and Safety team takes note of such mischivouse behaviour of some sellers to escape from their commitment to meeting the specifications mentioned in the advertisement. Recently I am facing a problem with a seller (name with held as the dispute is still open) Where the dispute is on the language of the following two specifications.

1) Memory Capacity:Physical memory may be occur 12.5% to 50% by any means if you format.

2) ************N.B: It has built-in 1GB Flash Chip. So you will be able to access songs / movie max up to 1GB Also, if you store more than 1GB to songs/movie there is a chance of corruption of firmware.

I never formatted the device and it is giving me access to only 99MB of songs / movie max of the advertised 2

The product gives me access to only 99MB music / movie max of the advertised 2 GB system where as the advertisement promises access to 1 GB music / movie max. Supplier is trying to escape by quoting the first condition half through namely saying that he has quoted that the memory capacity will be only 12.5% to 50%. Even this condition as per the sentence in English language is applicable only if I format by any means. When I haven't formatted the device so far the supplier is quoting this condition and take refuge under false interpretation.

If such mischievous way of cheating the buyers are allowed to go unchecked, soon buyers are likely to loose confidence in this portal form of trade and genuine buyers may stop trading.

It is high time the authorities concerned take note of such misleading advertisements leading to frustration and feeling cheated amongst buyers and take appropriate corrective action against errant suppliers to and improve the reputation of the protal
