Many on eBay are a Seller and also a Buyer. Give both sides an equal and unbiased importance.

Let the Sellers have ability to leave negative/neutral feedback along with Star selection for the purchase a buyer made.

Stars: Communication (responsive), cooperation (in resolve any issues), Acknowledgment (timely item receipt), Payment (how much time he took to pay after checkout), Recommend (recommend this buyer to have as buyer).

Also, if a buyer receives few negatives/neutrals, let that account as buyer be restricted.

Also, introduction of Power Buyer.

We know that its difficult to digest yourself and for your programming/development team. One needs to go with the future and update things along with the Changing World.

Gud idea... Feedback also should be 2 way.. Seller also got RIGHTS to categories the buyers. S Most of the times New buyer's feedback create a confusion... Altough seller is trying to give gud service.. some people have da habit of complaining for every thing...

eBay, you need to stop *assessing the Seller services based on the count of negative/neutral feedback he got. You don't try to frighten a Seller by placing restriction or suspension. And if this is really needed, inform Seller first sweetly and give him support saying that 'the restriction is going to occur just to educate him. There is nothing to worry. Let Account Manager or some special managers help that Seller to improve his standards'. Never ever deal with such Sellers rudely or don't put them further down with improper reply to their requests to lift the restriction. (who are true but emotions/greed/ignorance changes the way he do business).

@manasimahesh, you are right, that makes eBay an unbiased online portal. Genuine Buyers gets good items at good prices. Sellers will sell more items and at less rates without fear.

Good if eBay can include few lines* at few points.
May be it looks strange for you. But this helps your executives also a lot. Minimizes the cases. And this is very easy to introduce in the existing application.

1. When Buyer is about to leave negative feedback by clinking the negative option checkbox.
Popup or Suggest Message: "Please contact Seller for any complains on item/service before leaving feedback. Leaving negative feedback may not be the solution for your issue." or Let him select another sub option, 'contacted Seller' 'not contacted seller'.

2. When raising SNAD, INR etc; cases.
Popup or Suggest Message: "We know all people in this world are good. Contact Seller for any issue before raising refund/claims/complaints." or 'we see very few cheaters (sellers/buyers) on eBay who were caught easily. We know you are true, be happy and contact Seller if you have not yet contacted.'

*may be you can frame your own sentences that serves the purpose.
