At eBay, it has been our constant endeavor to improve our buyer and seller experience. Some initiatives we have recently taken in this direction are a new Home Page layout, Feedback 2.0 and improving feedback adoption through promotions like Cricket Mania. The new Home Page layout helps us showcase interesting inventory like 1Paisa auctions, whereas Feedback 2.0 is a result of frequent community feedback to incorporate more details in the Feedback system.
Providing our users with better value is also a key focus area, and we have tried to address this through introducing new features like "Markdown Manager" using which sellers can run discounted promotions in their shops, thus helping sellers showcase their offerings better and helping buyers find good bargains.
To achieve our twin objectives of better value and improved user experience, we are introducing a new Fee Structure for all categories.
Key changes are:
• All listings created on eBay India will be subject to new Listing Fees, revised Final Value Fees, revised Feature Fees and Seller Tools Fees. These new fees shall be applicable to all listings in all formats (i.e. BIN, Shop Inventory format, and Auctions) created on or after 11:59 PM IST on 31st March 2007
• Listing fees shall apply to all listings by sellers who have listed more than 20 listings on eBay
• No Gallery Fees will be charged, however sellers will need to select Gallery while creating the listing to avail the feature
• Listing Fees will be credited if your item does not sell successfully (including Unpaid Item) for the first time, but is successfully sold in the 1st re-list instance
• Fees associated with Services & Real Estate and Cars & Bikes categories remain unchanged
We understand that our sellers may need to make changes to their current business plan to accommodate these new fee changes. So, we encourage you to check the Managing your eBay Business Strategy, download the Fee Calculator, attend our Online Workshop on 23rd March, or use our Customer Support Resources to help you understand your overall listing strategy.
To learn more about these Fee changes, read our FAQ section. Your suggestions & comments are valuable to us and we encourage you to share your feedback with us on this thread.
We are aware that, as a seller, you have a choice of outlets through which to sell your products. We appreciate that you choose to do business with eBay. We will continue to work hard to ensure that our sellers and buyers continue to have great eBay user experiences.
Regards,
Sapana

I am a super seller (Oh Sorry! I was a super seller and now Powerseller in eBay), I had sold many items from Baazee to eBay.
But Now I must say that eBay is too GREEDY FOR PROFIT.
eBay say that they care for buyer as well as seller,To be honest and straight they only care for profit and Buyer and seller can go to hell but not to forget seller must also exploited to maximum extent before they go to hell.(No one should be spare)
Fraud buyers are allowed to do anything as one who is a real fraud have many ways to get escape but eBay make sure that Honest and Sincere seller are not spare without sucking every drop of blood from their body.
I am very disappointed with the eBay this new fees which is nothing but the step to exploit the seller and to earn maximum profit without taking any interest of the sellers.
I am sure now most of the sellers are searching and looking for a new website or market for selling there items, At least I am searching because the new fees will raise the expense to a level where I may not able to survive.
We seller do not get the items free of cost and have to pay the money to the supplier time to time. So, such fees will result into reduce of genuine seller and items.
I am sorry to say that the day is near when there will be no sellers but frauds and Cheat on eBay.in .
This is the beginning of the end.
Thanks and Regards,
Deep Agarwal.

I need a shop to showcase my items. They are hobby goods. So I got to have a shop. But I have given up the idea of earning money from it.I would rather concentrate more on my profession as architect for my dal roti.
But shop I shall keep,if necessary,I shall spend from my other earnings to keep it.And There is this community, you and other members. How can I leave you?
So,I shall be here with you people with my shop,I earn 2 bucks or not.
Thanx,

In how many ways can I express my joy at this move.
Some of you may say why I am happy when most of the community feels it is a wrong move?
Well, reasons are many. But mostly I feel that sales will go up atleast 100% after this move.
Well, I have been on this site for more than most users. Starting from a baazee.com era when there were no FVF fees not to an ebaY.com where soon there will be fees to list products. And more than anything this is a gut feeling based on years of experience and sales of over 20,0000 products on this site.
I feel that the categories of books, music and movies should also have been brought under the gambit of fees. These products should be ideally sold from stores which will now have a fee of only Re.1/- per listing per month.
All sellers should focus on the long term benefits of greater sales through introduction of listing fees rather than look at the small expense of listing fees. In developed market like the US of A, a sell through rate of 30% is considered average. Even if we Indian sellers have a fullfilled sell through rate of 10%, than listing fees for low value products below Rs.2000/- will be only Rs.10/-. Surely any seller can afford an expenditure of Rs.10/- per sale.

I got a heart attack as soon as this was announced on a phone call. I am still recovering.
At Other eBay Sites: More Buyers, Less UPI
At eBay.in: Less Buyers, More UPI
This is the main difference, There are less internet trading in India compared to other eBay sites.
Competition are more: FutureBazaar, Rediff.
I have seen advertisements of FutureBazaar at Television, Indiatimes Shopping at Newspaper regularly. But why eBay is still quite and not giving any advertise at Television / Newspaper.
Buyers who face bad experiences are not coming back to eBay. They are going to different sites.
Actually this move is certainly good one, But eBay should have introduced a bit late, like in September or October 2007.
So I am not at all caring to pay listing fee unless the more sales approx 50-60% than the
present.
Many sellers were ready to pay for listing fee for all products once it got introduced in
Mobiles & Accessories. I faced very good sales in February at Mobiles Accessories.
Advantages:
* Fraudent & Multi Listings gets reduced.
* Sales gets pickup (depending upon the product)
* Gallery is free and eBay.in looks colorful all over again after 1 year
* All products at TL / SM / SM Pro gets updated and non-movable products gets reduced,
Disadvantages:
* Seller will loose the listing fee if the sold product doesn't gets paid (New Sellers may
face a problem as they are not allowed multi-quantity).
* If sales doesn't increase, then seller might loose the profit paying listing fee.
* Sellers who sell under Coins & Stamps / similar Categories (in which most of the product
price is from Rs.10 - Rs.25) may affected by and large.
* Removal of UTI NetBanking service from PaisaPay. This is another reason for more UPI.
eBay.in should announce such price changes 2-3 Months prior. This will make top sellers to
analyze and update their products.
My suggestion to eBay team is to control UPI better than bringing the Listing Fees. ---------------

This new fee can be a good decision if ebay charges just 0.25 per listing. You should go up slowly slowly you should atleast make a seller comfortable this immediate decision looks like a burden a sudden charge that is too much as i read messages from fellow community members .. that the margin is very less in several items Like Stamps and many others.
Please consider my suggestion their may be several sellers whose earrings are in lakhs but there are also some sellers whom you forgot before taking such decisions who are hardly earning 8 to 10,000
If such a seller is listing 1000 items in a week after spending minimum 8 hrs a day that means total fee : 4000Rs. will be charged in month just to list items .. so how one would survive ?
I am really concerned for those who work part time to earn their livelihood and such a burden will really result in drop of listings as well as sales.
Indian EBay is not established in such a good way here you won't see successful listings with real Indian buyers
Here it is hard to see buyers pay in real.
Electronics / computers and mobiles listings do very well in India so if you want to make eBay look better make your changes in those categories rest should be reconsidered. "Lord, I have done many things wrong. I am guilty, but to show your goodness, forgive me for everything I did. When people choose to follow the Lord, he shows them the best way to live.”

You are too young and should take care of your health. We dont carry anything with us when we come down from mother's womb. Also we shall not carry anything when we shall vanish in the blues.Never be upset.
Listing fees are must for reducing junk listing. Also gallery pic is must.
Re.1 is too high for hobbies and collectables. Also stonemen/women have large debts on their heads all time.
If eBay prospers,we survive.
Okay,I really dont know.
Forgive me please.
Thanx,
Truly,
