I've found a 99% correct way to stop fraud buying of 'BUY IT NOW' items!

Friends, every morning we the sellers wake up to an unpleasant surprize; that our 'Buy it now' item has been clicked as purchased by a Nigerian fraud with false Indian ID. An Email accompanies it telling all sort of stories and asking us to give all our details and then ship our product to Nigeria to one imaginary friend of his (he himself who else!)
EBAY has no particular way to stop it, I know. So it should give us the sellers a chance to stop it. Make it like this:
When a buyer with no feedback score clicks on our 'Buy it now' item, instead of delisting that item as 'sold' and charging the final value fee from us, the EBAY should send us a message that so and so buyer wants to purchase your item, are you ready to sell it to him? That the purchaser is a new registered and/or having no feedback rating.
Now this leaves it to the genious of the seller to guess about the genuine-ness of the buyer and so you can be 99% sure about the success of the deal.
Problem solved for both the seller and the EBAY to cancel the deals and all the headache. Yours always

Recently i am facing this problem. I am agree with suggestions of two buttons Decline Or Accept. It will shave time and extra efforts of ebay and sellers. But ebay will do so ?

Be patient Shivarthecom. EBAY will do this. If it doesn't, we the Indians will float our own website with that feature; and mind you, we will not "sell" that one, like Mr. Bajaj etc. of Baazee.com did!
There's a fire flowing as an under-current.......... Yours always

I agree with the suggestions but what A buyer will do if he is serious and ready to Pay but his Feedback Score is Zero!!!.He may or may not be Nigerian.
The question is "Ebay should do Buyer Verification Via Credit card or Bank account.

M/s 'buy_with_confidence' you have perhaps not read or understood my post fully. It is a fool-proof idea. I am not telling to reject a buyer with 0 score. I am saying that whenever a buyer clicks on your buy-it-now item, you have the choice to either accept the deal or decline it. If you think he is not a Nigerian, just accept it. Simple! Yours always

Hello bay_jyoti and all users,

Thank you for taking the time to discuss this issue and provide your suggestions.

The issue of fraud buyers purporting to be from Nigeria is one that we are working to address. This same question was asked of Rajan, Country Manager for New Ventures & Payments during the Open House Chat he had with our community last Friday. For your benefit, I am reproducing the content of his post below

"eBay has a Trust & Safety team which comprises former officers from various branches of Law Enforcement whose role it is to ensure safety for the users of our websites. We constantly share information and best practises across various countries to keep such fraudsters off our site. That said, the unfortunately reality is that fraudsters continously try and find new ways to beat our systems. We are constantly on the lookout for such fraudsters and will work with local police authorities to bring them to book.

Best Regards
Rajan"

On your suggestion, one immediate concern I could thik of was it might lead to a significant loss of 'good' transactions, simply because buyers, especially new buyers, might not be checking their emails after they have bought their item, expecting it to be delivered to them within the delivery times committed by the seller.

Let me reassure you that we are committed to finding a viable solution to this issue. In this regard, we request the help of our committed sellers such as yourself. You can help us by reporting such buyers via the 'Contact Us' link so that eBay could investigate them and take appropriate action.

Interesting question M/s Buy_with_confidence !!
Just mail any of the fraud Nigerians, wait for their reply, read it, and with just a little experience and intuition power, you can easily distinguish between Indian and Nigerian. Have you ever received mail from any Nigerian after he clicks your item? They are too similar. Their way of writing, their grammar, their "excuses", their stories...I know it's not too perfect a way to find out, but in 99% of the cases you can!
At least you are not taken by surprize. Even if you get saved 1 out of 2 times, it's worth making a system, to accept or decline. I strongly feel that you'll be saved 9 out of 10 times with a little experience. Those Nigerians, however fraud they are, are not too much innovative in their frauds! "STUPIDS" they are..... Yours always
