Hi,
I want to express my anger against seller who employ cheap tricks like having an item worth Rs. 4000 sold in the fashion of having a price at Rs. 100 and then shipping price at Rs. 3900.
I want ebay to regulate these kind of cheap tricks. I was looking at the following item number 7576875137, its a "Aiptek DV 3100 Digital Handycam+Still Camera+Webcam". I think this is bad marketting. There should be some kind of regulation, like to have a maximum of only 10% of the cost of the item for shipping.
I often use the method of "lowest price first" option and have to be disappointed with the results because of these kind of tricks.
What do you feel friends about this?
Vincent

Dear Vincent,
Any seller don't want to go in loss by giving very low price.
You have the rights to report such issues to ebay.
http://pages.ebay.in/help/contact_inline/index.html
Select Bidding and Buying
Step 1 : Problems with sellers
Step 2 : Shipping cost is too high or unfair ---------------
With Regards,
Navaneeth (snrama) 😉

Hi Navaneeth
I agree that no ebay seller wants to make a loss on the sale. I too dont want any seller to make a loss on ebay.
All that I wanted to mention was that the shipping price should be reasonable and not used for a marketting gimmic where the price is kept to dirt and the shipping price as the total amount.
But your comments were really helpful Navaneeth, I appreciate your answer to me.

Dear softwareman4u ,
I would suggest that ebay must start a CATEGORY......
ONE-ZERO Auctions
.....where Items are listed at Rs.1 with ZERO Shipping charges.
This would allow bold and aggressive Sellers to list their items in this category and BUYERS would be able to get exciting Auctions.
regards

The suggestion of Total Cost Sorting is good.

Hi,
We completely understand the concern you have expressed. It is exactly for this reason that we have the Shipping cost as a default option appearing on the Search results page
While some of you have expressed the need to display the Total Cost (ie., Item value plus Shipping costs), this may be difficult to implement time since a Seller can have multiple shipping costs for his items (eg., National Courier, National CoD and Buyer Picks up and Pays), and hence we have taken the approach that we should display an indicative shipping cost in the search results page which can give buyers an idea of the shipping costs as they are viewing items for purchase on the search results page
"* Shipping amount may not reflect all shipping options offered by the seller. Other shipping options may have a different charge. Final shipping charges will be determined during checkout"
We will continue to explore alternative ways of curbing this issue
Thank you
