I & my husband keep buying stuff on ebay and from other online shooping sites and have a more than satisfactory experience. Some of the concerns and hence the improvement areas in our last 2-3 transactions with ebay are asfollowing:

1. We imported a Philips Sound bar through Global Easybuy without any issue. But where we felt that the vendor should have taken care is to mention on product listing that there would be a requiremnt of voltage converter as theproduct followed european standard of 110 V capability. While as an individual we can give a feedback to the vendor, but as a platform provider this should be a standard practice necessiated by ebay for all electronic products,
2. We bought a Nikon camera from ebay (a local vendor), the terminology used by vendor on warranty proved to be confusing. the vendor is offering dealer warranty but it sounded like manufacturer's warranty and we end up buying the product. Ebay can easily have a mandatory field that necessiates a vendor mentioning whether the product is covered under manufacturer's warranty or not. Also, the vendor has not paid any taxes on the product and hence have not provided a taxpaid bill to us. I feel like buying a stonlen product. Without preaching that we should not be party to evade tax, I wuld recommend that this can also be a mandatory field where the vendor necessarily mentions that a taxpaid bill is being provided or not:-(

It is common sense if you are buying electronics from USA - YOU CANNOT USE IT in India. However, the same can be easily rectified by purchasing a voltage converter adapter, avble of this site too or at your local electronics store, and its not very expensive either. So its no big issue.

@c123niyam:
You haven't explained the real issues of this thread. Issues raised in this thread are:

1. The item warranty proved explained is confusing?

2. Ebay can easily have a mandatory field that necessiates a vendor mentioning whether the product is covered under manufacturer's warranty or not.

3. The vendor has not paid any taxes on the product and hence have not provided a taxpaid bill to us.

4. I feel like buying a stonlen product. Without preaching that we should not be party to evade tax,

You are correct upto your explanation.

Thanks RATAN.TRADE
