Dear eBay, please introduce a listing fee.

Hi,This is what I feel.I am ready to pay for services I get.I have seen that if I ask for a hand from eBay,they give me both the hands. Why not ask payment for the services eBay gives to sellers? Nothing wrong with that. Thanx,Truely..Amitava

oh that seems like a rather stupid suggestion.
ebay is already charging fees as a percentage of every sale and then on paisapay.
If listing fee were to be introduced, that would surely discourage many sellers. Dont think ebay can do that at this stage when its looking to expand, rather than capitulate.

Hi,
I presume you have suggested this on the frustration of seeing multiple listings for a single item. I think buyers are still too limited in ebay.in to introduce such compulsory listing fee. There must be other ways to tackle this problem. Hope to put some suggestion regarding this soon. Best Regards

Hi,

ebay is trying to balance an act.

I mean ebay wants more & more Buyer on site.

Similarly they want more and more Sellers on site.

This would create demand and supply along with competition.

Buyer would be able to get a better price .
And sellers would be able to sell Volumes.

At the moment ebay.in site is not that mature enough to sustain a listing fee.

Dear eBay, please introduce a listing fee.

Way to go guys!

The older sellers have been asking eBay.in to start listing fees but eBay standard explanation is that it will scare away the newer sellers.

The irony is that even the newer sellers are now suggesting listing fees!

Are you listening, Abhi, Samar, Gautam?

Drive the filth away with listing fees and not ridiculous restrictions on sellers and abject suspension for frilivous reasons.

And Umang, please do something about your siggy (signature). It is simply too irritating to see those cartoons on every post. Make it smaller, more meaningfull and bring it in line with board guidelines.

Devesh,

First of all I would like to mention that I visit only a couple of boards and not all the boards.

I am using this cartoon to bring in some freshness and joy in the boards.

My most favourite board is "Help from Other Users" as I love to learn from others experiences. I believe in growing together.

I know Devesh that you are too PROFESSIONAL and this kind of Cartoons may be irritating to you.

I would definately do something and revise it to make it enjoyable to one & all.

Just excuse me for a sometime.... till I alter it.

Dear eBay, please introduce a listing fee.

Umang,

All I asked you is to bring your siggy in line with guidelines. Since no guidelines are framed for the Indian boards, I believe we should take the US guidelines as model.

This is taken from the board usage guidelines:

Some may have slow connections or slow machines. Some may use text readers or other aids. Try to create a signature that adds something positive to your posts, and doesn't trouble others on the board you are posting to, so that all feel there is value in it that makes it worth the extra page-load time.

It's a small act of kindness to make a change that may help another.

The complete guidelines can be found at:

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jspa?messageID=421090808&forumID=2005&x#421090808

The size of the signature file is 50 x 220 pixels.

Your signature file is 314 x 149, more than six times the recommended size.

You may further note that:

the "No Advertising" clause of the Board Usage Policy remains applicable to posts made using signatures

Your siggy is more of an advertisement about your store and does not add any value to the posts you are making.

More Importantly,

Calling other senior sellers names is not gaining you any popularity in voices dl and will definately not gain any goodwill on these boards. I take strong objection to such flippant remarks (too professional) on the community boards.

You may also note that none of this is personal. I had earlier taken up the siggy issue with another user who has a TOO BiG siggy. I simply want siggies to be meaningfull and of the size to be appreciated by all.

Hi Mr. Devesh (cameras_n_such),
Our costitution has more similarities with that of UK than US, so you can suggest the pixel restriction of UK 😄
...... just joking, please don't mind.
I think both you and Mr.Umang (indconcepts) may be good friends having a mock fight - good to read and thanks for letting us know about the restrictions. .

I DONT THINK SO CHARGING LISTING FEES WILL HELP AT ALL.THIS WILL DECREASE THE NO OF LISTINGS IN EBAY TO A GR8 EXTENT.
