Competition Getting Toughest on Ebay Site

From last 2-3 Months i observed that competition is getting tough/throat cutting on ebay.
now there is very cheap margins on deals. sellers are selling the items at very very low margins. and apart from that hard ebay policies
i think only genuine sellers can survive on ebay.
i am worried about online business. and i will have to think the next steps.
whats your opinion!!

Not sure if you have heard about Gaffar market in Delhi. that place is heaven for fraudsters. Its not that all dealers in the market are frauds,but yes majority is.

I agree with you that offline shopkeepers can also take out the accessories and replace with duplicate ones. but an online sellers should at least check (before buying fromt he dealer offline) with the company first and do every thing possible to verify the authenticity of the item + accessories before selling it further online.

i am amazed, how seller is misguiding by mentioning Genuine in the title.

these are listing from the sellers who are selling look alike prototypes (chinese copy) and listing in Original Nokia.

I bought a Rado watch from Gaffar for 100 Bucks 4 Years Back. 🙂

By the way-
1'st link- there is no mention that the item is nokia. seller has clearly mentioned that it is chinese phone.

2'nd link- same, no where mentioned nokia. But the only problem is that video link is given which is not allowed.

3'rd- Also no where mentioned nokia, the only problem only one banner of paisapay is given , where two are mendatory in case mobile number has to be provided..


And cleverly seller is using keyword genuine but it is for genuine IMEI number...

I dont think these listings are any violation and eBay and Nokia will like to act on these listings. Also any buyer I think is not goint to be fooled to buy these items thinking these to be genuine Nokia Phones.

Please post seller ID's of sellers selling counterfeits as Originals.

Still thanks for your selfless effort. Other sellers should also help and come out in open for cleaning our eBay community.

thats what i was talking about.
Agree they have mentioned chinese. but thats only once and in the first one, the seller didn't even bothered to mention that this is a copy.

I too am selling i9 (some what like iphone's copy) . But i am not using the Apple iphone as a keyword or to compare with anywhere in my listing. except in the end i have mentioned that this is not an apple iphone or any look alike of any phone. it comes under some other brand, with that particular brands warranty card in place.

but this is day light scamming and fooling the buyers by mentioning the terms such as Genuine N97 (in the "whats in the box") and listing it under Nokia N Series categories.

Also, check these lines from the description:-

7-True nokia application(Ovi store,Facebook,browser etc.)

11-Single sim supported as orignal N97 supports only single sim.

clearly keyword spamming. he is targeting search results from the following keywords:-
Original N97 & Nokia

so who suffers in the end?
I can also use a keyword namely "paris hilton" if this the case, and see how many hits i will get on my listing. lol buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

Hi!

By reading all the posts, I've started loosing hope. The whole world is degrading on morality, be it online or offline.

A big question is haunting my mind:- IS IT RIGHT TO EXPECT MORALITY AT A BUSINESS PLACE?

With competition getting tougher and tougher the struggle for survival is taking prominence over morality.

just recently, i sold an item. dispatched it promptly.
Now the courier company is not able to deliver the item
following is the feedback of the courier company:-
1st instance :- door locked.
2nd instance :- refused.

I asked her to file item not received case and i shall honor the request.
Now the buyer is saying she has not received the item and threatening of negative feedback. I told her, this is against eBay policies and comes under feedback extortion to which she replied I dont care. lol.

Just wondering. what are my options. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

u can call customer support of ebay and ask them to refund the amount
they wud help u
and u can also mail to ebay for this refund

Ditto same thing happened to me with a buyer from USA, She filed INR case in 4 days from dispatch, also told she will leave bad feedback if I did not transferred Rs 500 to her account which she "Thought" I had charged her extra for shipping to USA.

I tried the best from my side, reported to eBay, talked with my Ac. Manager, everything possible.. But she left me 6 Neutrals in a day with all 1 DSR. Because of that my DSR rating came down and I lost my powerseller status this month.

as the ratings were neutrals nothing could be done, even cc could not have removed them.

Anything more tragic to say? than you loosing your hard earned powerseller tag because of some what should I say.

Did that, it was actually in item not received case itself, they checked it from their. Thing was other user was from eBay.com , so they didn't wanted to offend .com people I guess.

Whatever god has given me , these people cannot take, I just believe in that, Next Month I will again get my PS Status.
