Community Court Changes: Online Workshop, 4 - 5 PM, 24th December

Dear Members,

Community Court was established with an objective to provide a community forum to help address unfair feedback received by a seller. Basis the regular feedback we received from our community members, we are making significant changes to the existing Community Court to better fulfill the objective of keeping feedback fair.

The revamped Community Court will be now called Community Review Forum (CRF) and along will be effective from 3rd Jan 2011, 00:00:01 Hrs (IST).

We believe that these changes will go a long way in helping keep the eBay feedback system fair. To understand more about these changes, please join us for an online workshop on this topic between 4 PM - 5 PM on 24th December 2010 on this thread.

To your query on Timelines. I would only inform that eBay cannot decide the standards whether delivery within 1 day or 2 days is acceptable or not. eBay can only provide guidelines (defined in PaisaPay) to sellers.

This is not just applicable to Shipment timelines, but also the way packaging is done as well. As expectation differs not just from person to person but also basis reason for which it was purchased

for example
1) I might be ok with 5 day shipment delivery time period, but for a buyer who want its next day , 5 days may not as per his expectation.

2) I may be ok with a standard packing i want to use the item for myself, but I may not be ok with standard packing(if i have requested to the seller and he still delivers in standard packing) if i am to gift it to my close relative

Hi linusstudios,

To answer you query on different avenues for feedback removal, We do have a policy on feedback removal (http://pages.ebay.in/help/policies/feedback-removal.html) which allows sellers to appeal to eBay on unjust feedbacks (neutral / negative) if they fall within this criteria.

If the Seller strongly feels that the feedback received is unjust and not covered under this policy as well, would recommend that they write in to your account manager / eBay customer support who will review your feedback and take appropriate decision

How are the jury selected and on what criteria and what if there is no majority achieved due to low quorum ?

An important question for eBay to answer

Are sellers now required to achieve more than 70% majority of votes to have their negative feedback removed?

We are asking this question because we have recently noticed that minimum no of votes now required (as mentioned in the ebay notice) is 5 out of total maximum 7 votes?

Shouldn't it be 4 otherwise to gain majority?

yes thats unfair it should be 4 , if seven is kept an odd figure to achieve majority then why is it 5 votes required out of seven , why not like a normal voting session world over 51 percent majority is majority.

Recently for using third party tools of eBay approved Third party software provider www.vendio.com , One of our listings were pulled out.The buyer/bidder appreciation tool.

When we contacted vendio, they say we are approved eBay third party tools.And overzealous eBay customer service staff has erred with the same, Also they advised to escalate the matter to our account manager but seems nothing is happening.

Now what should we do., eBay TnS is not ready to listen to the same.And they made made is as mark against policy compliance ratings.Also here is the link on eBay showing it is certified http://certifiedprovider.ebay.com/Vendio.html

We were trying to appeal against few of our -ve feedbacks. But when we login to Community court it says 'Ability to appeal an unjust feedback in Community Court has been deactivated. You will be able to appeal for unjust feedback in community review forum post 3 Jan 2011.'

For the 2 feedbacks I know there are only 2-3 days left. How can we appeal against them ? Would the time be extended ?
