Community Court Changes: Online Workshop, 4 - 5 PM, 24th December

Dear Members,

Community Court was established with an objective to provide a community forum to help address unfair feedback received by a seller. Basis the regular feedback we received from our community members, we are making significant changes to the existing Community Court to better fulfill the objective of keeping feedback fair.

The revamped Community Court will be now called Community Review Forum (CRF) and along will be effective from 3rd Jan 2011, 00:00:01 Hrs (IST).

We believe that these changes will go a long way in helping keep the eBay feedback system fair. To understand more about these changes, please join us for an online workshop on this topic between 4 PM - 5 PM on 24th December 2010 on this thread.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Hi happy.shoppee,

To answer your query on limit on unsuccessful appeals.

First to clarify, the limit of 4 unsuccessful appeal does not mean that a Seller can appeal for only 4 feedback for every 100 feedback received.

Unsuccessful appeals are instances when majority of CRF members who vote on Sellers appeal do not agree with the Seller reason for feedback removal.

A Seller can have a max of 4 unsuccessful appeal for every 100 feedback received.

You would agree that not all feedbacks which a seller receive is unjust/unfair. This restriction is built in to the system to ensure that the sellers be selective about the feedback they file as unfair / unjust.

Additionally, If majority of CRF members vote in favour of the Sellers appeal to remove feedback, it does not count as unsuccessful and the seller still have 4 successful appeals left. Hence till the time seller is selective and appeals only the those feedback which he feels are really unfair, the seller will not encounter any concerns even post this restriction

Hope this clarifies your query on this.

Regards

Thanks for the reply.

Let me underline your line - " You would agree that not all feedbacks which a seller receive is unjust/unfair. This restriction is built in to the system to ensure that the sellers be selective about the feedback they file as unfair / unjust. "

I do agree that a seller would agree that not all feedbacks that is appealed is unfair a seller appeals atleast i/genuine seller appeal only for those feedbacks which are unfair so rejection of 4 would make the seller wait for 100 feedback to appeal next thats a long way to go , doesnt ebay agree that a unfair feedback to seller not only can affect a seller's sale but indirectly affect ebays sale if seller decides to not buy on ebay going thru these unfair feedbacks.

Hi linusstudios,

There are many scenarios which may or may not be within Sellers control. But CRF is not the only answer for all of them.

I would Also request you keep your self in Buyer shoes as well. I agree that fog related shipment delay is out of the Seller control but at the same time, Seller can still avoid unfair feedbacks from buyers, by being more communicative with their buyers and providing them a window upfront about potential shipment delivery delays due to fog.

sir before you signout please do help out on our querry too, as when can we write to TnS for unfair feedback, is it possible if we get it delivered within 48 hours of order processing or 72 hours of order processing or give us a timeline for the same, so we can understand the ebay procedures better.

That was an example sir.

How about cases where buyer had provided wrong contact information and mobile number and parcel gets RTO.

If CC is not the only option, is there any other option to get these unjust neutral feedbacks removed. And if CC is even one of the options to remove unfair feedbacks why not allow neutrals in it?
