Choice of Courier

Recently I have noticed that the shipping notification has false date of shipment. I had a chat with a ebay rep on 14/9/12 when he said that the item is yet to be picked up and shipped out by the ebay team. Then I got a notification which showed that the seller has shipped the item a few days earlier. Is ebay now picking up the items from the sellers and deciding when to ship and which courier to use?

There is this new PowerShip program for seller. May be its a part of the process but still not sure.

I had a chat with ebay. They say that their logistics team collects the parcel from the seller and ships it. My pending order has not yet been collected by the team although the shipping date is passed. I will now look at other sites for my requirements.
