Hi,
Excellent suggestions but I doubt if ebay.in will be able to do such wide range of changes. Something hopeful is that on repeated requests ebay.in has recently given the optional buyer verification preference to the seller, hence, they are not adverse to changes.
I have one more suggestion about redemption of the Feedback points proposed by you and would like to have others opinions regarding that.
The buyers can be given an option to use the redemption points to jump one outbid value. Sounds complicated ......let me explain
For example some buyer is bidding Rs.100 on an item. So to outbid one needs to put a bid of min.150 (100+ 50 min. bid increment for this value). Now if the buyer use the option of feedback point redemption to increase outbid stage, then it will cost him 50 redemption points and to outbid one has to put a min. bid of 200 (100+ 50 redemption points + 50 min. bid increment for this value).
Similarly, if a buyer is bidding at 950 then to outbid him one need to bid min. 1025 (950 + 75 min. increment). If the buyer uses the redemption option then he will loose 75 reward points and to out bid one has to put a min. bid of 1125 (950 +75 redemption + 100 min. increment for values more than 1000).
Buyers can be permitted to increase only 1 outbid stage redemption at a time and max. 2 such uses per item / buyer.
I think if used prudently, such redemptions can be very useful to save some money at the end portion of bidding. The seller will also not loose as the product is selling more than his min. expected value. Moreover this would encourage the buyers to put Feedbacks for each deals hence the loss of feedbacks for the sellers will be reduced. eBay should also give some discount on Fees to the seller if the item closes with one redemption in the last bid.
Hope to receive others view.
