from the several week its being the heard that several buyers are getting chaeated by new seller. its also affects the sell of reputed experience sellers.
coz victim buyer no more buy from ebay

issues like:
EMPTY BOX
NON-WORKING ITEMS
Payment by Cash deposit - then NO item sent

i suggest ebay
plz banned new sellers to sell item above rs. 500/- once they build good feedback ie: 50 or more then they should allow to sell high value items.

Hi,
This is a very serious problem. But if the payment option is PaisaPay,then the buyer is safe, irrespective of the item cost.
Thanx,

Dear kumar.m,

It's always good to hear from you and passionate members like you are the beauty of Community :-).

From what I understand, you are suggesting that we should not allow new sellers to sell items above Rs. 500/- and this will benefit the community on a whole. Well! this is what I have to say..

eBay is a marketplace where anyone can sell anything to anyone. All sellers with good feedback today and selling high value items started as a new seller and then went onto be successful as they are today. Everyone has a unique selling proposition which creates market for them. Limiting them under a specific value would be killing the opportunity the marketplace has today.

For every 100 sellers there are only a few sellers who fail to meet our expectations of providing an all round good buyer experience. For this handful set we cannot close doors for others who are good.

A seller with wrong intentions will still defraud the buyers and the buyers who are once bitten will be shy to come again to the platform for any purchase. The amount does not matter. As a buyer if I loose even a single buck in a transaction I'm unhappy and lost. So allowing new sellers to sell upto a limit of Rs. 500/- only does not really matter.

I believe rather taxing new sellers to sell under a limit we should train and guide them and do thorough verifications which we are doing and thereby constantly improving the marketplace health.

I hope I was able to engage in a healthy discussion and would love members to share their thoughts on the same.

Keep Posting!!

Dear Manoj (kumar.m),

A good question for which I'm seeking answers as well :-)!

We all know that there thousands of transactions that happen on our marketplace everyday and we also know that most buyers are satisfied and happy with their transactions. This can be seen with the number of positive feedbacks of sellers being far higher than the number of neutrals/negatives.

But as someone rightly said, "It's easy to criticize and hard to appreciate", I believe most buyers only look turn to community when that have issues/problems/unfortunate experiences.

Nevertheless, I'm happy that they atleast they come to our community boards and give us a chance to bring back their faith and trust in eBay.

But you are right!! We should do something to bring happy buyers to community to post their GOOD experiences :-)!!

Regards,
Indraneel
