Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

We are pleased to announce that starting the week of 3rd December 2007 we will be launching several enhancements to PaisaPay. These enhancements are aimed at making transacting on eBay even more safe, fun and providing our buyers with a delightful experience. New PaisaPay will provide a mechanism for the buyers and sellers to complete their PaisaPay transactions with ease and help our sellers increase their business on eBay.

The New PaisaPay flow:

Key Highlights:

1. Providing a delightful buyer experience: Buyers will now be able to use PaisaPay for fast, assured purchases or get their money back! In case the buyer does not receive the item purchased with the prescribed timelines, he will have the option to get a quick refund.

2. Uniform performance guidelines for Sellers: In new PaisaPay the sellers will have fixed timelines within which they need to ship and deliver the item. This will help in providing a standardised seller experience where sellers will have clear performance guidelines. In case a seller needs more time to ship or deliver the product, he can request the buyer for a time extension.

3. Easy tracking of shipments for both Buyers & Sellers: Sellers will be required to enter the shipping details in My PaisaPay within the prescribed timelines. This will give buyers and sellers a quick reference point to know the shipment status thereby resulting in smooth communication between buyers & sellers.

4. Easy Refund Mechanism:

a. In case the seller is not able to ship the item: Seller can easily issue a refund to the buyer by not entering the shipping details within the prescribed timelines. In such cases PaisaPay will automatically issue a refund to the buyer. The sellers no longer need to follow the offline process of contacting PaisaPay Customer Support for issuing refund.

b. In case the buyer does not receive the item: If the buyer has not received the item within the prescribed timelines he has the option to raise a refund claim. In case the seller has delivered the item he will have 5 days to dispute the buyer’s claim. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

5. Seller Remittance on Buyer Confirmation: PaisaPay shall remit the money to the seller as soon as the buyer confirms item receipt or does not raise a refund claim in the prescribed timelines. Certain Qualified sellers will be eligible for Express Remittance.

6. Express Remittance for Qualified sellers: Sellers who qualify for Express Remittance will have their individual Express Remittance limit. Please note that Express Remittance is a privilege for sellers with strong business and good behaviour history on eBay. The option to offer this privilege to sellers will be at the sole discretion of PaisaPay.

7. Online Remittance to replace Demand Drafts: PaisaPay will remit seller’s money online to his bank account instead of mailing demand drafts. This will save both the courier & encashment time for the sellers. It will also mean no more cases of lost demand drafts.

8. Twice a week remittance cycle: PaisaPay will now be sending money to sellers twice a week (bi-weekly basis) replacing the process of weekly remittance.

9. All new My PaisaPay: The new ‘My PaisaPay’ in “My eBay”, will give buyers & sellers an easier interface to communicate with each other and stay updated on transaction details.

10. PaisaPay Phone Support to be extended to all seven days of the week: PaisaPay phone support will be extended to all seven days of the week (from current five days a week) from the month of December 07.

11. PaisaPay becomes mandatory: All listings will automatically offer PaisaPay as a mode of payment. Sellers can also offer other mode of payments. Sellers with 20 or less listings will be able to offer PaisaPay as the only mode of payment. Read FAQ’s.

12. PaisaPay Invoice: To ease the process of reconciliation and accounting your PaisaPay transactions PaisaPay would be issuing a monthly Invoice to sellers.

13. eBay Buyer Protection remains the same: Buyers will continue to remain eligible for eBay Buyer Protection after time-out period. All other buyer protection features will remain the same. Read FAQ’s.

14. PaisaPay EMI Option: Sellers with 5 or more feedback will have the option to offer 3 and 6 month EMI in their listings, which can be availed by buyers paying via ICICI bank credit cards. Additional PaisaPay charges apply fro EMI transactions. Read FAQ’s

To avail the Enhanced PaisaPay facility from the week of December 3, 2007, all sellers will need to register again with PaisaPay and update their bank details here. We encourage you to update your details as soon as possible on this link. Read FAQ’s.

We understand that you might have questions to understand the changes better. Please feel free to read the FAQ’s, go through the details on this page and on the tutorial, contact our Customer Service team or post your questions on this thread.

We are very excited about these changes as we believe that this will help us in providing a high quality online shopping experience to our users and help in making eBay the favoured destination of online shoppers.

Regards,
The eBay Team

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hi!

I have been here on eBay for quite long years, infact for more then 15 Hrs everyday.

I have seen many changes right from BaaZee time. All the changes were well planned and were very good.

But this time I feel that eBay has just taken a hasty step without thinking for the seller community. If the sellers run away, then what will you do with the buyers?

I do understand that there might be just 1 or 2 buyers out of hundred who will misuse the system. It is just a small number, but the amount of their purchase can be big enough which can give sellers sleepless nights.

The amount can be a sellers one months profit and can also be someone’s one month salary or even more than that.

Providing proof of delivery in a short span of time is impossible, I think many of us have not gone though the lines mentioned repeatedly on differently pages that…

1. In case of any dispute between the buyer and seller on item delivery, PaisaPay’s decision will be final.

2. In case of any dispute between the buyer and the seller on item delivery, eBay's decision will be final.

3. PaisaPay wil investigate the case and take a decision. In such a situation PaisaPay's decision will be final

4. PaisaPay would then investigate the dispute and action as per evidence on record. PaisaPay's decision on the dispute will be final.

5. In case you are notified of the buyer raising a Refund Claim for non receipt of the item and you have delivered the item, contact PaisaPay within 4 days of such notification with a copy of the Proof of Delivery (POD). PaisaPay would then investigate the dispute and action in favour of either party as per evidence on record.

In case of dispute and chargeback we get enough time frame to submit the copy of the POD. As mentioned by me and other sellers before it is not possible to submit a copy of the POD within the prescribed timelines and most of the times the tracking info in the courier website is not updated.

Sapana, please update what has to be done if the courier company does not provide with a copy of the POD on time and simultaneously if the website is not updated with the delivery details.

bestofkashmir, There many meanings for some words. I also checked with my oxford dictionary.

1. A mildly disrespectful form of address to a man or boy.
2. A person or thing that stops a specified thing.
3. An impressive person or thing.

Its not looking in one eye. You may have expressed as noun. But I thought different. Any way sorry if I have hurt you. ---------------

Thanks Sapana for the replies.

If the seller doesn't face the loss (like product sent & payment refunded), then its fine for me.

But how does we give the Tracking details or POD if the product is eBook? Please explain as its digital delivery (email). ---------------

Dear Sapana,

Thank you for the reply. Slowly and steadily, i feel that the new paisa pay would be a trusted payment option for the buyers. Regarding the money transfer, there would surely be a confusion as a monthly invoice is not going to be a benefit if we have to give money to the creditors as this is what i do. I pay the amount one week after the item is taken.

For which item, I have to pay the amount would indeed be a confusion. So what comments paisa pay is going to add when the money is transferred.

And where are the promotions which paisa pay had promised for? And does ebay have any tie ups with reputed courier companies? If they have, then it would be easier. The seller could just give the item number and the paisa pay id to the courier guys which could be forwarded to the paisa pay team. This can reduce the delay in transferring funds as the item has already being sent and is in transit. What do you think about this idea?

Rahul

Hello,

Speed Post may not be competitive in any form when we compare it to other Courier Companies .... but it still comes to the rescue of many Sellers when there is no other Option in sight.

A Seller cannot have a number of Accounts with the different Courier Companies till the time his Sales are massive.

I have Accounts with TNT India and Professional Couriers.

I ship my low value goods through Professional and High value goods through TNT.

Places where the service of these two are not available, I ship the Item through Speed Post inspite of the tedious time consuming processes of cloth stitching and sealing with wax are involved.

In the present scenario .... no Seller would risk sending it through Speed Post.

There would be a high risk of loosing the Item as well as the money.

To accommodate SPEED POST .... ebay's Management Gurus would have to burn the mid night Oil.

**********************

Also, I believe ... 30% Sellers are still dependant upon Professional Couriers. It serves each and every corner of Southern India and Rates are un-imaginably low.

Cannot track it Online, Cannot get most of the POD's, Cannot get DRS on time, thefts and damages are occassionally there ..... but still can't imagine to work without it.

**********************

New PaisaPay Era would bring in a sea change.

Yes, Sales would definitely increase because :

a) More & More Buyers would pour in with confidence.
b) Many existing Sellers may not be able to cope up with the new system and would be eradicated.
c) New Members would find it quite complicated to start selling. .

Hello All,

With the New PaisaPay (in Escrow mode), INR Disputes will be a thing of the Past.

So why not go the whole nine yards and and do away with SNAD too?

Let the Buyer get and additional 2-3 days to inspect the item upon receipt, verify it is "As Described" and than confirm acceptance (not just receipt).

If the Buyer thinks it is SNAD he can return the same to the seller and will get his money back when seller confirms receipt of returned item.*

We can also do away the Negative and Neutral Ratings for Sellers. As all sellers will dispatch within 7 days and through good couriers who will deliver latest by 10 days.

If the Product is no to the liking of the buyer, he can simply return it immediately and get his money back. No need to berate the seller by give him bad ratings 🙂

SO if INR and SNAD go away all sellers can have Peace of Mind. There will be no seller restrictions and supensions.

I would like to hear opinions of all sellers on this.

Just imagine doing business without fear of that all powerful neg. Just ship the product. Either get paid or your product back. No messy disputes, no restrictions, no suspensions, no slurs on your reputation. 100% Peace of Mind. No Tensions. No Worries.

Obviously New Branded Products need not have inspection.

Bold Ho Jao!

P.S.: This is not original thinking. Refer TnC on escrow.com.

Most other ecom sites in India are already offering a "NO Question Asked Money Back Guarantee." This is simply the Money Back Guarantee implemented by PaisaPay.

Rather than having a two step process
1)where buyer acknowledges receipt, seller gets paid.

2) Buyer finds product not to his liking after 90-117 days of use, opens SNAD, seller having to take back a used product (taking a hit) and refund money.

It would be thousand times better if buyer is given 2-3 more days to inspect the product and than say accept it completely. The whole world operates this way. NO Where in the world buyer gets a chance to use a product for 115 days and than scream SNAD for a full refund except ebaY.

Hello Devesh,

That's a very good suggestion.

No INR and No SNAD ..... just peace of mind.

But reverting the CST entry would be a headace.

Also, 2-3 days inspection time is not acceptable.
Buyer should simply pack it back and return the Item without signing the POD. (Or can write a remark for not accepting)

There should not be any provision of SNAD after acceptance.

Other Option ..... if he accepts it and still wants to return .... he can write to the Seller.

After acceptance by Buyer, the returns should only be at the sole descrition of the Seller.

I think these Seller friendly suggestions would be very hard to digest by ebay. .

Announcing launch of all new PaisaPay!

Hello,
What will happen when a fraud buyer will get the item on time and it is as per description but still he open a SNAD and then return any other X item of No or very negligible value instead of original item for refund.
Then Paisapay/eBay going to trust whom? Buyer or seller?
I think the answer is offcourse buyer only.

What if a buyer get the item and but still he claim that the package was empty and then he open SNAD.
How seller going to prove that the package was not empty and the buyer had received the item?He will either get the refund from seller or eBay.

What if a seller clearly stated that "Please do not accept a parcel/package if it is temper or damage or its in unsound condition" but the buyer still accept the parcel and then after words claim that the item is missing and then open a SNAD to get a refund from eBay or seller.

I am not just throwing negative possibilities but these are some real experience and I can tell you that in eBay there are some buyers who are taking unfair advantage of loopholes of eBay and ultimately seller will have to suffer or have to bear losses and then one day will have to say bye to eBay forever.

More and more such buyer will be active on eBay as buyers are given all the powers and powersellers will be without any power.

Such buyer will have a very nice time buying on eBay as they will get item free of cost.

Things will go bad to worst in coming time.

Best Regards,
Deep Agarwal.

Wow,

Two replies within 10 minutes. Its seems sellers are really enthused at the prospect of a life without disputes, negatives, restrictions, suspensions, tensions, worries.

Umang,

1) When goods are sent on sale or approval basis, the sale is only recorded after the buyer accepts the products. You need to raise an invoice only after the buyer accept the product. If buyer rejects the product you do not need to raise invoice at all.

2) 2-3 days are required for technical products which may require some installation and perhaps with the help of techincal support. For e.g. a Internal TV Tuner Card which would require the buyer to call his hardware engineer to install and his cable operator to provide a line.

ShreeKrishnaJewels,

Your concerns are very valid. But this happens even today.

The only difference is that today it is a two step process where seller receives money and refunds money, where what I am process that seller does no receive money at all. Refund is via PaisaPay.

However the major difference will be that buyer will have only 2-3 days to claim SNAD and not 89 days as is the case today. I very often receive complaints from buyer that the product is not to their liking after 1 month, 2 months. This is worst form of abuse of buyer protection.

The system can work in the following manner. Seller tracks delivery of products. Inputs the same on the site. Buyer gets 3 days to accept the product or input airway bill number of return.
