AUTO Refunds - Your Views

Hello,

The launch of New PaisaPay would bring in lots of changes on the site.

The fearful one would be the AUTO REFUNDS.

Auto Refunds would be everyday affair as the Seller would not like to ship the Item if he has the slightest of doubt about the delay.

Many Sellers would avoid using 2nd grade Courier Services, Speed Post etc.

Getting a Physical POD within such a short duration would not be possible.

There would be quite a number of instances where the Buyer would get the Item as well as the Auto Refund.

Would like to know the Comments of the Co-Sellers as to what they feel about this and what would be their Strategy after the launch of New PaisaPay ?

Would you stop Selling on ebay ?

Would you wait & watch ?

Would you stop selling High value Items ?

Would you stop selling low value Items as shipping through 2nd grade Courier would be a risky affair ?

Would you keep selling the way you are doing now ?

Dear Sapana,

As per what you have told,auto refunds happen only when shipping number is entered.What if i enter some shipping number which doesnt pertain to any shipping details and then i ship the item after the seventh day of the payment made?

And suppose for example,the item should reach by the end of the tenth day once the item has being sent.What if it reaches on the eleventh day?Places like Assam and Sikkim would take close to 15 days for delivery from my place.So as a result,i would stop dealing with people who are from these places.Actually,it is ur system which is making the buyers a bad experience if this is implemented.The system should be more practical.

Sapana,

Many Sellers would not ship Items to remote areas and would prefer Auto Refunds to the Buyer.

Would you call it a GOOD Experience for the Buyer ?

Better would be to put more pressure on Sellers and start charging for Auto Refunds.

That's the only escape route the Sellers have which should be plugged at the earliest. .

There would be quite a few instances in new scenario
that the seller would know as soon as an order is recieved ,
that its going to end up with Auto refund.
Can a seller press for auto refund even earlier than the stipulated time ???
so that the buyer is not disappointed after 10 days

Scenarios like
(1) an order recieved from deep rajasthan , where the contracted courier does not service
(2) Orders where stitching is involved and usually measures are not recieved at times uptill 30 days
(3) PEOPLE BUY 1 ITEM TODAY , PAY PROMPTLY AND THEN ASK SELLERS TO WAIT AND NOT SHIP
AND KEEP ON BUYING 1-2 ITEMS EVERY WEEK FOR WHOLE MONTH AND THEN Avail discounted shipping charges
plus then all of a sudden they want everything to be custom stitched
(4)people buy on 15 august, pay promptly and request us to effect delivery on 10 october with a happy birthday message

A much better idea would have been to segregate the site into 2 parts
EXPEDITED EBAY and NORMAL EBAY
Only sellers who would easily be able to change to new paisapay
could have listed on EXPEDITED EBAY ...
rest all sellers whose product lines require extended time
would work on NORMAL EBAY !.
over time if buyers would have started flocking on EXPEDITED EBAY
The sellers on NORMAL EBAY would be forced to move on their own to the EXPEDITED EBAY

That's an excellent Idea .... and it make sense.

Since there would be number of instances of AUTO REFUND .... there should be a provision for initiating an AUTO REFUND before the stipulated Timeframe.

Why should a Buyer wait for 10 days to get his / her Money back.

I should rather suggest that there should be a provision of ..... ACCEPT / REJECT ..... for all PaisaPay Payments before passing through the Payment Gateway.

This is the way I am working on some sites.

It would be quite beneficial to Buyer, Seller as well as PaisaPay. .

Hi,

Whenever I sell something to international buyers I always give them the option of Reputed Courier, Speed Post & normal registered Airmail (without auto tracking facility). Till now each and every buyer has opted for Regd. Airmail. These mails normaly take 2-3 weks to be delivered in EU / US but in some cases, mostly in some parts of Italy it takes even 6-7 weeks. Sometimes I get frustrated but the buyers they always say that its normal for them in those places. But with your Auto Refund what will happen for such situations as you can not track a regd. airmail.

When I buy any stamp from India some sellers always ship by Regd. Post. I prefer that more than courier because they affix good stamps on the envelope for the postage. So I get some return of my postage charges by way of stamps (some times these stamps in used condition are valued much more than the postage charge itself). Using a courier for stamps is total waste of the shipping charges. But in this system the seller may not be able to use this mode of delivery though both me and the seller both prefer this mode.

The Auto Refund option must be optional as suggested by Umang and others. Else let us mention the delivery period in a specific area while listing and match the auto refund option with that delivery period. Currently we only mention the period when we shall despatch the items. .

Hi once again,

I am selling Jewellery to International Buyers. No courier in my city including Blue Dart carries jewellery to foreign countries. The only option for me is Registered Airmail and Speed Post of India Post. Almost every buyer prefers Registered Airmail even though it takes 2-3 weeks for delivery without any tracking system. Since 3 years I too have a good selling experience with my buyers without any complaint.

Now the problem rise with introduction of New PaisaPay process of timeline and auto refund. There are some buyers (not all) will take the advantage of this system in getting both the item and refund. I agree to this to some extent. Hope everything works fine from next month.

Hello,

Auto Refund is only if seller is not able to ship within 7 days and the buyer does not agree to a time extension.

Once seller has inputed the shipment details there is no auto refund.

A buyer can ask for a refund if he does not receive the product within prescribed time lines.

If sellers feel that they will not be able to deliver within the said time lines, they can always communicate with the buyer before dispatch. If the buyer is agreeable to an extended time line, he will not go for a refund claim.

But barring the most remote locations, 95% of the parcels can be delivered within 5 days.

I do not accept orders from places which my courier does not have service. Many a times I ask my buyers to give alternate address where they can receive the items (which are serviceable by my courier). Many buyers agree to provide alternate address rather than go for a refund. I loose PaisaPay seller protection by shipping to a different address but that is a risk I take. And fortunately I have not had a single case of charge back when I have shipped to an alternate location on buyers request.

A simpler alternative would be to ask buyer for a time extension when you feel that delivery time by your logistic partner would take more than the given 10 / 21 days. Say you feel that a national delivery will take 20 days instead of the 10 days allowed, you can ask your buyer for a 10 day time extension, ship as usual and enter the shipment details after 10 days. In this way your logistic partner gets 20 days to deliver and your buyer cannot file a refund claim before 20 days of your shipment.

Hello All,

On reading certain posts and responses I thought of clarifying doubts around the Proof of Dispatch.

While dispatching any item through a courier the seller receives the dispatch details (Airway Bill No. /Docket No. / Tracking No. / Reference No.) These dispatch details are mentioned on the Proof of Shipment/Receipt provided by the courier company at the time of picking the consignment.

The seller needs to input the dispatch details such as Airway Bill No. /Docket No. / Tracking No. / Reference No. and the courier name within 7 days of receiving payment confirmation from PaisaPay for item deliveries within India and 10 days for deliveries outside India.

Sellers are not required to provide the hardcopy of the Proof of Shipment within these 7 days..

If the item is not delivered to the buyers within 10 days from inputting the dispatch detail then the buyer has additional 5 days to raise a claim for refund. Buyer can not raise the Refund Claim before the expiry of 10 days from the date of your inputting shipment details. In such a situation if the seller decides to appeal against the refund claim, he gets 5 days from the date of Refund Claim to appeal against the same by providing either:

โ€ข Hard copy of the Proof of Delivery (POD)
โ€ข Hard copy of Proof of Shipment for a online track able shipment

Lets see this through an example to understand the timeline better (for India shipping):

โ€ข Buyer Payment Date: 1 January
โ€ข PaisaPay Payment Confirmation (PC): 2 January 2:00 PM
โ€ข Window to enter shipment details: between 2 โ€“ 9 January 1:59 PM
โ€ข Actual date of entering shipment details (SD): 4 January 3:00 PM (say)
โ€ข Mandatory waiting time for the buyer to receive shipment: 10 days from date of entering SD i.e. not before 14 January 3:00 PM
โ€ข Window given to buyer to raise a Refund Claim (RC): 5 days from the expiry of 10 day waiting timeframe (as mentioned above) i.e. between 14 โ€“ 19 January 2:59 PM
โ€ข Actual date of buyer raising the Refund Claim: 16 January 4:00 PM
โ€ข Time given to seller to appeal against the RC by providing the scanned copy of the POD: 5 days from the date of Refund Claim i.e. between 16 โ€“ 21 January 3:59 PM
As you can see in the best case scenario (shipment on 2nd day / buyer raising refund claim on day 2), you actually get 19 days (between 2 January 2:00 PM and 21 January 3:59 PM) to provide us with the POD copy.

You will get much more time for International shipping.

Also in case your shipment is track able online, you donโ€™t even need to send the POD as proof of shipment would be sufficient.

Also for the Proof of Delivery, if the sellers have online tracking available with their courier companies then the status is updated within 2-3 days of delivery. Any good courier service company in India does not take less than 7 days to deliver any item across

There is more clarification from the Pinks on the other thread and the example by Sapana in Post No.17 may be ignored.

All the Actions as mentioned below would be based on Calender Days .....

Enter dispatch details
Delivery time
Refund claim
Refund dispute


This thread was lost due to the commercial Postings by Chinese.
Hope that more and more Sellers would put forth their views about Auto Refunds. .

I WILL PREFER TO LIST MY ALL ITEMS IN EBAY.COM INSTEAD OF EBAY INDIA.

Paypal is now advanced and easy !!
But paisapay is our new NIGHTMARE ๐Ÿ˜ž

I think i am not going to use paisapay now.
And before the date comes i will move all my items to ebay.com instead of Ebay India.
