GPRS / WAP settings for China Mobile Incl. i9+++

Hi,

Many users need GPRS / WAP settings for their China mobile purchased on ebay or other sources, so I thought I would start a thread here.

To use GPRS / WAP on your china mobile you need just two setting from your service provider:

1) Access Point Name (APN) and

2) I.P. address.

How to manually set up :-

I will use settings for Aircel wap - you can change it with any service provider.
WAP

***First Step***

1) Main Menu --> Select Services (This may be named variously as net, etc.)
2) Select Data Account - Select GPRS
3) Select the First Entry
4) Edit the account name to whatever you would like
5) Edit the APN to: aircelwap (your service provider settings)
6) Username - leave blank
7) Password - leave blank
8) Edit Auth Type - Normal (if needed)
9) Save

Select Back --> Select Back

***Second Step***

Select WAP
1) Select Settings --> Edit Profile
2) Select the first entry --> Edit Profile
3) Edit the name to whatever you would like
4) Edit Homepage to : http://myaircel.com (your service provider setting)
5) Edit Data Account to the Name you established in the First Setp.
6) Edit Connection type to HTTP
7) Change IP Address is 172.17.83.69 (your service provider address) and the port number is 8080
8) Edit Username to - Blank
9) Edit Password t0 - Blank

Select back or done
Select Activate Account

The above settings are for Aircel Pocket Internet. You just need two seeting APN, IP address and homepage to use it for your service provider.

I will give setting for Airtel here:

APN - airtelgprs.com
IP address - 202.056.231.117
Homepage - http://www.google.com

Request other members to provide settings for other service providers. I will keep updating with other service provider settings.

Hi All,

I have installed Nimbuzz on my i9+++ phone and not getting connected.

Always get the msg:" The application is unable to connect at this time. Please check your internet connection."

Can somebody tell me the settings how to get installed nimbuzz or any other messenger on i9+++?

Hi there, I purchased i9 mobile , i was very happy with this phone, i configured opera on it...but after
dec 😞 .
According to seller it has 2 valid imei numb. , and after 30-nov-09 , it didn't work. i told this thing to the seller..he asked me to get it registered with my local vender.

i visit this discussion board regularly, i really apriciate you guyz...for provioding valuble info.

I would advise,Please check Whether you have legitimate IMEI number or not.

The Very first and simple step is to SMS a text message:

A simple SMS can help you to verify your IMEI number

Type an SMS “IMEI {followed by your} (15 digit IMEI No.) to 53232
For eg : IMEI 351868910323340 to 53232

Message displayed for correct IMEI – Success
Message displayed for incorrect IMEI – Invalid IMEI

Otherwise, there are number of online websites offering IMEI check facility for that you have to go to such sites and put your IMEI number in the given box and within few minutes after verifying you will be able to know that your IMEI number is legitimate or not.

How to Check IMEI number Online

For checking IMEI number online, just go to this page and enter your imei number which you found out by pressing *#06#

You can check all known information regarding manufacturer, model type, and country of approval of a handset.

Hi Sraj,

Sorry to hear that you are facing this problem. If your seller had indeed claimed valid IMEI numbers for the i9 phone, you can send the phone back to him for recourse. He can either get the phone working with valid imei numbers or replaced with one with valid imei numbers.

Beyond that there is no solution. GOI has stopped the GII program.

...and let me know ...is it possible use valid imei number of my old phone on i9.. can we update the valid imei no i9 using any software

I ordered one more i9++ with org imei no (Govt approved) from you

Bcoz i was facing imei issues with my prev. i9 phone (was purchased in nov 2009) and gii prog is closed as well ,so i'm tring to contact the seller to get it fixed as soon as possible

However do you any idea to implant imei no. on my prev i9 phone.
