I had purchased a football from ebay,
Item Number: 180521052803 ,
SELLER : xtremesports.in
The product sent was completely non functional and I gave a negative feedback to the seller.
The seller appealled to community court and despite my strong case and argument for retaining the feed back, the court which appears to be stage managed by such sellers, the negative feed back was removed.
So friends donot rely on sellers' feedback.

Feedback Content: The product was defective, of no use. The football was not holding air at all ,

my comments :
1. The item send to me was 100% defective. It was not holding air at all, and for football the core requirement is to hold air- for it to be called "football". It is like selling a pen which does not write/ an electric lamp which does not give light/a book which is blank/ an AC which does not cool, etc. It is different thing that the football send has scratches, it’s old, torn etc but if a football is not holding air itself, it is not a football. It may only be called a chunk of rexin or anything else.

2. Even this major defect in product would have been explainable on the part of the seller to an extent, had the product send was in manufacturer's sealed condition. Instead, the product send to me was not sealed, it was completely open and it would have been very easy for anyone to check it before sending to buyer that it performs its basic function or not.
3. As the product send was completely non-functional and also unsealed, the seller’s intention was highly doubtable. It was very likely that the seller has sent the product fully knowing that it was defective. He tried to pass on a defective product taking advantages of weaknesses of e-commerce, as exchange of product here involves hassles of wasting time in following it up with the seller and/or ebay, sending back the product and waiting for a replacement, etc in addition to incurring reshipping charges. In many such cases the buyer is not able to follow up for long and leaves the experience with bad taste. After all , one of the important reasons one goes for e-shopping is that it is very easy and convenient . However, when it involves exchange, reshipping, follow up, etc it becomes much more inconvenient and time consuming than the physical/conventional shopping.
4. Even if one accepts that the seller was not aware about the non-functionality of the product, when he sent it, was it not his duty to just check the basic functionality of the product being send especially when the product is unsealed?
5. It will be highly irregular and very much against the long term interest of e-commerce, if so many sloppiness on the part of the seller is ignored and appropriate deterrent in the form of “Negative Feedback” against the seller is removed. This will not only discourage genuine buyers like us but will also encourage dubious sellers intending to take undue advantage of e-shopping.

EVEN PAISAPAY ALLOWED REFUND TO ME,

THEN HOW AND WHY THE NEGATIVE FEEDBACK WAS RREMOVED BY THE COMMUNITY COURT-

THEY DON'T GIVE ANY EXPLANATION FOR IT,

BUT ANY ONE CAN GUESS, THESE FORUMS ARE STAGE MANAGED TO MISLEAD BUYERS.

HIGH TIME EBAY SHOULD DO SOMETHING IN THIS REGARD.

Even I bought that "FootBall" . Here is what happened with me. (Nothing is personal so sellers please do not mind)

It got delivered to me after 28 Days of ordering + 8 Phone calls to seller. I was not able to fill air in it because of my busy schedule. One fine Day I saw pump in DOD again, I even ordered that, it was delivered in 11 days from ordering.

Now I tried filling air, 4 Kicks and the foot pump was flat , it was made of cheap bendable material.( Plus I am 85 Kgs) So I now it became a hand pump instead of foot pump. I tried with hand, But whoaa now the bladder opening in football had shifted. Normally in footballs that is stitched but in our DOD football it was simply glued.

Even now the half air filled football and bent pump lies in my office reminding me never to fall for cheap Deal of the Day items. But the point is you get what you pay for so for 149 that too with free shipping what else I can get.

eBay community court is rally cheating me.

The feedback which I left to a seller came before the court yesterday (19th August), and I gave a proper expalnation. The court informed me that:

"The seller has submitted his/her final statements. The case is now closed and has proceeded to the Jury who would start voting on your case soon.

You will be informed of the outcome of this case when the jury has finished voting which would be 10 days from today."

But came another mail after a few hours (not after 10 days: on 20th August early morning) saying:

"The Community Court has decided that the feedback for this transaction should be removed with a majority of 51% of the votes."

That means the case is not proceeded to Jury for voting.

The Seller (i am not disclosing his name) is getting a lot of negative feedbacks, all these negatives are being removed within a day. Now I understand what is the play working behind.

It's a real example of cheating from eBay, not only favouring its sellers but also protecting faulty sellers too.

Concluding, I am very disappointed with this experience from eBay and would like to share my experience to other customers of eBay.
