Gaurantee period

Your money back responsibility is only for 30days. We buy expensive things on ebay and they are gauranteed for 6 months to 12 months. The seller is placed all over India anywhere. When we approach ebay we are told that our responsibility is over after 30days and contact the seller. The contact info is given but seller does not attend this service of gaurantee. He does not even respond. What should we do? We will not buy from ebay again as it is very risky. Show mw a way by which the seller is peanalised for not withstanding his responsibility or negative marking can be given after one month or during gaurantee period

Re: Gaurantee period

You are wrong to assume that after 30 days eBay or the seller will fix your product if any problem arises in it. If you are a regular online shopper on any website, you will know that, the 30 days money back or replacement guarantee given is out of goodwill. If after 30 days, there is any problem with the product, you have to take it to the manufacturer's service center to avail the Manufacturer's Guarantee which is given with any new products. Neither eBay or the seller will replace or take responsibility if problem arises in your product after say 6 months or 1 year year. If eBay or any other online store functioned in the way you are saying they should, then customers would have purchased an item and after 1 year would have raised a complaint saying there is some some defect and they want their money back or a new model. Sorry to say, it doesn't work this way in the real world. If you aren't comfortable with these then you are free to purchase from any of your local brick and mortar store.

I have been purchasing on eBay from all over the world since 2001 and never had any problems and so I think that the 30 days refund policy is really good, rather than a 6 month refund or replacement guarantee like you are asking for. This may sound harsh but this how it works.
