Dear Sellers,

eBay always wants to ensure that sellers provide our buyers with a great shopping experience on the platform. Providing tracking details for items sold is an industry standard and something that our buyers expect. Tracking details helps buyers to know where their items are throughout the shipping process. With the aim of providing great post purchase experience, we’ve set minimum tracking and validation expectation for our sellers, within the area they control, such as shipping within handling time and uploading a valid tracking id.

What's our tracking and validation performance expectation?

1) Provide accurate Handling Time:
Your buyers expect to know when they will get their items.

What to do:

  • Specify in your listing clearly and accurately when the item will be shipped.
  • Select the shipping option that best matches the shipping service that you offer in the listing. This helps buyer receiving the product within the stated delivery timeline.

2) Upload tracking on time with validation (arrange pick up with in handling time):

Transactions where you upload tracking details within your stated handling time, and the carrier scanned the shipping label either before or after your handling time, are considered on time and validated.

What to do:

  • Upload accurate tracking details within your specified handling time.
  • Ensure you use a shipping carrier which gets scanned or tracked on eBay portal.

Minimum Expected Performance:

Minimum Tracking upload on time with validation:
• Transactions worth <US$10 : 85%
• Transactions worth >=US$10 : 90%

What's our tracking and validation performance evaluation period?

We evaluate your tracking and validation performance every week effective November 1, 2020. The length of time we look at in each evaluation is the transactions taking place in the preceding 4 weeks. These timelines help us to make sure we're evaluating you as fairly as possible.

What happens if you don't meet eBay’s tracking and validation performance requirements?

If you don't meet the minimum tracking and validation performance requirements, we may put limits on your selling activity until your performance improves. We may also restrict you from selling items on eBay if your performance falls significantly below the minimum requirements.
