i recently won a bid on used HDD value $42, the shipment is free internationally from malysia, i want to know do i have to pay customs duty, although the value is below 5000 Rs it comes under duty free. Also, if this HDD qualifies for duty free, do i have to pay :importation risk premium, and variance fees... broker fees, CESS and service tax. Even if it is exempted from these charges, how much will indian post master charge, usually they charge huge sum. I do remember that i once won camera for answering question on newspaper, but when i got the product from organzation (indian), i was charged 600 rupees and inside box it was black box of value 50 rupees.)))
