I wanted to share my experience so other sellers are aware.
My 20-year-old eBay account was recently hit with selling restrictions. What’s frustrating is that eBay has given no clear reason for the restriction and refuses to provide any explanation, despite repeated inquiries.
Because my account is restricted, I can no longer use my eBay Global Shipping (EGS) balance. Naturally, I requested a refund of that balance - which I believe I have every right to receive. However, since 21 July, I’ve been trying multiple times to get this processed, and eBay keeps telling me the matter has been “escalated to a higher authority team,” with no resolution in sight.
It’s disappointing to see a marketplace treat long-standing sellers this way — applying restrictions instantly but taking months (or more) to address legitimate refund requests.
Important note for other sellers: If you use EGS, keep only the balance you need for daily shipments. If your account is restricted, eBay may not refund the remaining EGS funds.
