Is there any govt. license or permission needed for selling on ebay?

Hi,

I want to start a seller business on ebay. What all are the institiutional obligations which are to be followed, is there any license or registration needed with the govt. authorities? How will I be managing the taxes? Will those be taken care of by ebay?

Dear Harish,

There are no institutional obligations or licenses required. You just need to register with eBay and PaisaPay as a seller and you are ready to go. Taxes will depend upon your total earnings which eBay would not be aware of. Thus it need to be managed by you. eBay will charge service tax on the selling fees charged by eBay.
