insurance via post or courier?

hi all, i want to ship coins via Indian post or courier. I wanted to know if insuring the coins is safe? means i would be declaring them that they are coins. has anyone tried it? reason i am asking is that some coins may be high value coins hence i want them insured and not take any risk. thanks

DTDC take 4% of the declared value as insurance fees...
i dont know if they will accept coins or no
