US to India by Global Express Mail (EMS) and Parcel Post. Have you done it?

Hello,

Have you had parcels sent to you in India from USA via the US Postal Services' Global Express Mail (EMS) or insured Parcel Post ? I assume that EMS is known as Speedpost in your country. It comes with tracking and US$100 insurance.

I would appreciate it if you could share your experience in using these services. Would you recommend it ? Is it reliable compared to private couriers ? What are the pros and cons ?

I would love to send packages to India using these services.

I have received two parcels from US and my seller used US postal services? It is ok but it is not so fast.
I am always in touch with my local postal delivery Man so I did receive it without any problem. I think they dont give your tracking facility. As I could not track my shipment which I was expecting.

As far as i know it is quite safe and reliable only sometimes they ask for Duty.
