Turbo Lister is EXCRUCIATINGLY SLOW !!!!

Hi

This is a really serious problem that i have been facing with Turbo Lister !

Although it is very feature-rich, it is nonetheless VERY VERY VERY VERY slow. If you have around 300-400 items or less in your TL inventory, then you will not feel the pinch.

But the real nightmare starts if you have more than 1000 items. I have more than 3800 items in my inventory, so you can well imagine that the nightmare is WORSE than EVIL DEAD !! And i am not exaggerating at all...

1. Cut and paste from one folder to another takes not less than 60 minutes. Firstly, when i cut or copy, it take around 30-35 minutes. Then when i paste to the destination folder, it takes another 30-35 minutes.

2. When i delete a folder or its contents, it again takes around half an hour.

3. When i am selecting my items in a particular folder and clicking on "add to upload", it takes around 40 minutes or so to get added to "Listings Waiting To Upload".

These were just few of the pains i have mentioned. But overall the software is killing slow in almost everything that i want to do.

This was not a problem when we had 300-500 items. But now it is almost impossible to work with TL.

I have an up-to-date version of TL.exe, with a decent computer with 512 MB Ram, Pentium III, Win XP.
Request everyone to give their views and expeience on this please !

Regards
Abhishek

Without doubt an absolute nightmare, oh you can tell it's free, anything that had to be paid for would not have been released in this state. I use a dual core ninja pc and a large cut & paste of say 250 items can take 20 minutes. 4 minutes just to turn on, weekly defrags because of the frequent crashes, reinstalls every fortnight just in case they have made it work properly.

It isnt the pc, it works every bit as slowly (but no worse) on an old P2 laptop that I installed it on just for a laugh. It isnt the RAM, it doesnt need defragging or reinstalling. It aint the processor (TL only uses 5% even when its working hard). It aint the listings or any other thing under the users control. The problem is that it is an apalling piece of software. My programmer mate came and had a look, he says it has memory leakage which is the worst he's seen on a released piece of software - that means the more you use it the slower it will run AARRRGGHHHHH £500 a month in Ebay fees and this is what they give me in return.

The problem here is not so much Hardware (BTW, a PIII is fine for this sort of work though better equipment does give better results). It's not even Turbo Lister code, it two features: Listing Activity & Listing Log. I have approx 1081 templates in my Inventory, but I have 3788 in Listivg Activity & 3081 in Activity Log. When I work with Turbo Lister and start opening and closing items, my Virtual Memory up to 1.2GB of RAM for this program (it starts out at 50MB).

Some people are manually deleting the entries which I guess is ok though you won't see a performance gain unless you do a compact afterwards (Tools - Compact Database). A more viable solution would be to turn these two "features" off. I've poked around the available options but haven't come accross anything. Nothing in help either; not that it may not be there, I just didn't see it. Does anyone out there know how to turn them off?

I never use TL as its too slow for me from begining ! I have state of art computer but TL will always run slow in a decent internet connection of 256 kbps.
I have Intel Dual-Core 3.2 with 2GB ram with Vista !

All best configs will still not make any uptodate TL versions work fast ! This is a know issue since last 2 years I know of !!

I recently updated my TL-2 and after that I am unable to upload my listings to eBay.

Another problem is that when I insert images in my listing in TL-2 it says that it should be at least 1000 kb size. It is not possible as most of my photos are around 800 kb. That means I will have to re-shoot all my items.

However, I had no problem uploading my listings directly from my eBay A/c.
