We are constantly trying to develop a category structure that makes it easy for buyers to find the items they are looking for. Such changes are made in response to the introduction of new models and technologies, or as the size of a category grows and become difficult to browse.
We are in the process of making category changes and would like to get your inputs for these changes. If you feel a category requires a change, so that your buyers can find your products easily, do post your feedback on this thread.
Thanks,
Seema

its good to hear this kind of initiative taken from ebay's end to take the opinion of the sellers.
One major change i would suggest is in the mobile phone category.
there should be a seperate category for chinese phones and branded phones.
this creates immense confusion amongst the buyers as they cannot see the difference between the chinese phone and branded phone.
For EG: if you search the nokia e71 then in the nokia e71 category the chinese version of e71 is also listed there are various other models in which this is done.
I think a seperate category for chinese phones would be quite helpful as buyers who opt for chinese phones will go to that category directly and the branded phones would remain the same which would cause less confusion in the buyers mind.
Please others sellers too give your thoughts on this.
THANKS
HARSH TANNA

We are the manufacturers of Rakhi and related products for the Indian event of Raksha Bandhan, Diwali etc.
Presently, the category Rakhi is under Collectibles.
We would like you to add a category for Indian festivals. The same can be done by creating the main category of "Gifts" and then adding sub categories like Gift by occasion, Gift by Relation etc.
Thereby you would be able to add events like Rakhi, Diwali, New Year etc. also in the category tree and make the buyers at Ebay take informed decision for gifting.
EBay, I think is basically a shopping for self site. But there are no. of accasions when we have to buy not for self but for others. Some basic changes are required to be made in the order placing format for making it shopping as well as gifting website. There should be a space for writing message, desired date of delivery, contact phone no. of the consignee etc.
Hope the suggestions are fruitful for you to increase the business of EBay as well as ours. Gifting is the area hitherto untouched by EBay.
Regards
Sanjay

You have mooted this category thing is good but what is point when your search engine gives wrong results.
We can have many categories and sub-categories but when the ultimate results are wrong then the whole purpose is defeated, don't you think so ???

Please have your feedback coming.

If you want feedback,I must say that your collectible >paper category is absent and present arrangement is clumsy and meaningless.
I wanted to list some postal insurance certificates and bonds. It is very much embarassing that you dont have a document category and every time I have to list them under 'EPHEMERA'.
Buyer experience is like wild goose chase.
I know you are a very sincere and very good worker. I suggest that ,before finalising, you please discuss with us and dont just push it down the user's throat.
I understand that ephemera takes care of most paper collectibles.

Buyer wants more specific information.
Forgive me if I am unhappy on this score.
But you wanted to know this.I am sorry.
