Selling US Products in India during family visit

Does anyone have thoughts about being able to sell a few items on Ebay India that I bring with me from the US (e.g. laptop computer, cell phone, camcorder).

- I have a high rating in the US (99.8% positive rating, 400 feedback)
- one issue is that they are US products with US power adapters, so this may not be a good idea??
- I think I would need to open a Paisapay account using my India address?
- What are some products that would sell well on Ebay India?

thanks in advance for your thoughts/advice.

Yes you can do it very well. I might be actually interested in the laptop.
The power adaptor thing is not a problem.
You will however need to register for PaisaPay as it is compulsory for Indian sellers.

Selling US Products in India during family visit

Hi mjs-e
Welcome to eBay India community boards.

The power adapters could be a bit of a problem. Although there are power extensions available in the markets which supports these adapaters.

Yes, you will need to open a PaisaPay account if you're looking to sell particularly in the Indian market.

All of the gadgets like Laptops, cell phones, cameras, ipods sell extremely well here. Also, stuff like branded clothings, some consumer electronics specially kitchen and home appliances (at less prices ;-)) might sell well here.

Hope this is helpful.

Thank you

Regards
Meenu

P.S. I might be interested in your items as well. :-)

Not gr8 idea to sell those items. The items will land you in trouble sooner or later as the duties are not paid. Its a kind of import without any official documentation to sell further.

just to clarify, I would not be selling any items in bulk. these would be considered personal items that I am legally allowed to bring with me through customs (one computer is allowed, one cell phone, one camera, one camcorder, etc). And, I would only sell these when I visit India and not on an ongoing basis. So, in response to the comment on paying duties, etc, wouldn't this be ok, as customs allows me to bring one-of certain items...which I would choose to not bring back with me/sell.
