Seller Performance (Non)

Hello,

Today another Mumbai Seller has been suspended due to Non Performance. The seller had 3 negatives and 1 neutral rating against 29 positives in last 30 days which would give him a ratings ratio of about 90% in last 30 days.

Can anyone please explain what is exactly meant by seller non performance? Does seller performance or non performance have any benchmark or is it just a subjective judgement of any employee of T&S.

Earlier when life was simpler and when eBay.in was Baazee.com, a seller was suspended for non performance when his ratings ratio went below 85% (or was it 80%?). Does eBay.in have any such quantifiable benchmark? If yes, than it would make life easier for all sellers. You will know what minimum percentage you are expected to maintain an active status on the site.

I have decided to stop listing on my id Cellphonewala till such time eBay.in makes public what it expects from its sellers. I have even deleted all scheduled listing on this id. The active listings will close within a day or two, its simply too tedious to close evey listing individually.

I can no longer live under the threat of a unknown sword over my head. I can live under the threat of a sword but it should be known when it will strike. Selling on eBay today is like living in Kashmir, you never know from where the next bullet will be fired or where the next bomb will explode.

I may continue to list under my other id, where I sell higher value products and where till date, God Bless, I have not received any negative rating.

Dear cellphonewala,

Yeh, its ture and and its high time for sellers. Many buyers bid our product and they give negitives without paying. This leads to our account.

eBay should think 1000 times to suspened the reputed seller. If they suspend reputed sellers (with good feedbacks more than 100), then they are the lossers, Good buyers lose faith with ebay. ---------------

There are some good enough loop holes in the system which can help us to get our account activated after we are suspended.

But whay the hel are we suspended for some stupid ratings the buyers leave.

You can check this id of mine where the buyer bargains for a product when refused to lower the price leaves the negative rating. And sonner or later i will have a tough time with ebay explaining y the rating was left.

And why are the matters for whcih i have filed for FVC is taken in to disutes. ANy Idea..

I know ebay is better - more advanced- tried and tested -- but whts the use if it dosent works. I have already stopped seling since my old id is suspended. I had sales of over 2lacs and Ratings of 175++ And here another one had ratings of over 700+ and You yourself ate 5000+ sir ...

Still lets hope we get a positive solution. For the matter i want Cellphonewala to mail a link of this post to Avnish Bajaj at avnishbajaj@ebay.com and avnish@baazee.com.

Also I once saw a positng from Mr Bajaj saying that on ebay unlike baazee Disputes are different then ratings. Then y the hell are these ratings are the reasont o suspend our accounts. then the same old process to get our account reinstated.

If
ebay policies violate then u will be suspended so better be careful whether it's
feedback, item listing , keyword spamming, user agreement just be very very
careful. Selling is not a joke here.

I totally agree with cellphonewala, all the sellers on ebay have one feeling that kal ho na ho. We have many rating with bogus buyers with remark like good Item with negative rating or nice item, but about that no ebay person is ready to open its mouth. kindly explaina nd warn clearly before taking any action so that atleast it makes the trust between sellers and ebay. If you find any thing wrong with any seller than you should inform him that this thing is wrong correct it or explain it else he will be suspended instead of sending links of policy. I feel clear and straight away answer will bulit trust among sellers, ebay and buyer.

We at eBay understand your concern about this situation, as seller non-performance decreases our seller base and makes less items available to our community. However, as a community that is built on trust, misrepresenting items or receiving funds and not sending the item, which are some of the reasons for which a seller can be suspended on grounds of non - performance, is a violation of what eBay stands for.


We understand that sometimes situations can occur over which the seller is not in full control. As such we provide warnings to the sellers to resolve the outstanding issue before suspensions occurs. Any complaints that are resolved in the proper fashion are not held against the seller in further situations. Working with your buyers who are filing the complaint in the online dispute console is a great way to avoid future complications.

For cases where you feel you have received an unjustified negative rating, we would urge you to comment to those ratings. This will help the community get the complete picture of the issue. Fellow sellers can also benefit from this by blocking that particular user from bidding on their items.

So long as you are delivering the items and you are listing your products as described and according to the terms and conditions mentioned you should have no problems in regards to non-performance


I am sure most of you are aware of this and will appreciate the effort is keeping eBay.in a safe and vibrant market place

YES it is a quantifiable score; we have our own risk models that predict the same. For reasons best known to you, I will not be able to discuss that.

Current eBay model and policies keeps us sellers on the toes all the time.

If a Buyer does not receive a reply to a message within 2-3 hours, he simply posts a neutral or negative feeback 😞

What I can see from your reply is simply that if a Seller has to sell on eBay, he will have to live with the fear of an unkown sword over his head. :_|
