Refund processed without any mail/ msg/ notification

Hello,
On 21/2/2017, I sold an item on ebay.in, cost Rs 3799.
As far as I remember I had entered shipping details on ebay but ebay is saying that I had not entered shipping details (either it's some system error that failed to update tracking details or may be it's error on ebay server).
Today I checked my ebay account and found that ebay processed refund on 1/3/2017.
Earlier I've seen that if I failed to enter shipping details in specified timeline I used to get mail from ebay informing that "A refund to the buyer has automatically been initiated since you have not provided the shipping details for the item by the shipping deadline" and I had opportunity to take proper action. I was expecting single mail/ notification/ msg about that refund initiated or apporved or processed, anything could have helped, absolutely zero communication from ebay. Is it not ebays fault to process refund without informing or checking with seller.
Fellow seller, please let me know your opinions/ suggestions.
