Paypal Charges for Indian Sellers

Dear Sellers,
I would like to enlight my fellow sellers about the paypal charges for indian sellers.
The charges to accept a credit card payment is 3.4% + $.30 but this will increase to 3.9% + $.30 when we accept a payment from resident of any country other than india.
Also to receive money from paypal via check, the charges are $5 + 2.5% of the amount.
Example:
Now if a buyer makes a 100 dollar payment via credit card then
amount received in paypal account = $95.8
amount eligible for check = $95.8 - $5 = $90.8
amount converted in indian rupees(Let us assume $1 = Rs 45) = 4086
Conversion rate of 1 dollar offered by paypal (Let us assume $1 = Rs 45) = Rs 43.87
amount received by seller = 3983.85

Total charges of paypal = Rs 4500 - Rs 3983.85 = 516.15 (around 11.47%)

I think charges are very high for indian sellers.
I hope they will provide online fund transfer for indian accounts also.

Hi Rishabh,

In march I had been invited to eBay Press Conference. In the lunch session I asked ebay team about the Paypal issues. They told me that it may come in 2007 as the Gateways should be configured and its a major job.

If Paypal comes to India, then I think the charges will get less and another advantage is to receive the quick payment internationally.
