PayPal Investigation of the Received Unauthorized Claim

Hi,

I have got one mail from paypal under the above mentioned subject, which say that an unauthorized account activity claim was recently filed against one of my ebay transaction more than 2 mnths ago, in which I recd the payment from a buyer with confirmed address for an ebay item purchased .
I shipped the item via regd air mail.
After some time I found buyer is no more regd ebay user.
yesterday when I got the mail from paypal regarding unauthorised claim, I opened my paypal account I went to claim details and found the msg, "The funds that were placed on temporary hold are now available for use"
But in the mail I am asked to provide all details regarding the transaction within 7 days.
I am not able to understand whats the problem .
Pls guide me experienced ebay community members.

I too had came across a similar situation almost an year back. Following is the email I received from PayPal :

Dear Meenu Jain,

One of the benefits of using PayPal is that we make every effort to alert you to potentially problematic transactions. Our goal is to help you make sound business decisions.

A review of recent transactions indicates that you may have received an unauthorized payment. This means that the PayPal account holder may not have authorized the payment you received.

We would like to learn more about this transaction. Please log in to your PayPal account and provide some information.

We strongly advise that you not ship the item until our investigation is complete. If you have already shipped the item, please log in and let us know where you shipped it.

We have placed a temporary hold on the funds until the investigation is complete.

I suggest you to please provide all the relevant information to PayPal on a timely basis . And the issue woule most likely be sorted out in a week or so .

Thanks a lot Meenu .
But I dont know what information do I need to provide them .
I shipped the items through regd air mail and I dont have any tracking info or POD for that.
Also , the temporary hold on funds has also been removed and any update to reversal of funds has been canceled.

So what should I do now?? Pls suggest I am a newbie to these kinds of matters.

This massege I found in my paypal account under details of the transaction which says funds placed on temporary hold are now available for use and below that was update for reversal of funds canceled
I also dont know when my funds were placed on hold?
I think the buyer would have requested for reversal of funds but since he is not regd with ebay now , paypal canceled the reversal request.
May be I am wrong and giving silly arguments.

The possible reason behind this hold was the unauthorized usage of funds by your buyer, and they confirmed with ebay because of which the buyer got suspended.
