May I still use online dispute services like ODR India, SquareTrade or NetNeutrals to have negative Feedback removed?

eBay will no longer accept Feedback removal requests from ODR India, SquareTrade or NetNeutrals, even when both buyers and sellers agree to have the Feedback removed.

http://www2.ebay.com/aw/in/200805.shtml#2008-05-08130956

We mentioned that we'd be aligning the Mutual Feedback Withdrawal process with the new system. After much consideration, we've made the decision to remove the Mutual Feedback Withdrawal process. The reason is that – under the new rules - it opens sellers up to extortion. As part of this decision, Mutual Agreement from third-party Feedback mediation services, such as ODR India SquareTrade, will also no longer be accepted.

Hello,
I agree that Indian buyers leave Negative/Neutral feedback for very small things.

but I had also came across some cases where buyer had left me Negative/Neutral feedback for communicating or to ask any question or query.

Well Customer is always right?

The day when you will face fraud buyer(s) then you view will change for sure...as some customers are never right,They take advantage of eBay policy and force sellers to give refund or they will leave negative feedback.

There are many such fraud buyers who are ready to take advantage of new policy.

Also I am shocked that there are very few sellers who had posted here,I think most of the other sellers are afraid writing anything against ebay or against eBay's stupid policy.

But this policy will make sellers like a living hell.

Just wait and watch.

Best Regards,
Deep Agarwal.

Hello,
I am very happy with this eBay policy,
as far as I know eBay, they will not change the policy if we like it or not.
Earlier we use to take looses by changing the product , or giving a full refund ,just to get a negative feedback removed.
Now at least if we get a negative feedback, we can just close the case for good, let the buyer be happy with what he got.
At least we will gain in this way,
Thanks eBay for increasing our profit.
waiting for more such policies

Dear EBAY,

WHY WE ARE NOT GETTING DIRECT ANY EMAILS FROM
MR. SHARAT , SAPNA , MR. PRASHANT OR MR. INDRANEEL , WHO IS VERY CLOSE TO COMMUNITY AND EVEN GOOD ENOUGH TO GIVING SATISFACTORY ANSWER TO THE SELLERS.

WHY THESE PEOPLE HAD STOP TO WRITE ON EBAY ? SINCE THIS TOPIC STARTED, WE HAVE NOT FOUND ANY OF EMAILS FROM THESE GUYS. EXPECT MR. INDRANEEL, BUT THAT WAS NOT HIS EMAIL, IT WAS JUST A COPY AND PASTE EMAIL. WE NEED PROPER REPLY.

I SUPPOSE TO THINK, THAT EBAY IS NOT ABLE TO GIVE SATISFACTORY ANSWERS AT THIS TIME AS USUAL.

NEED SATISFACTORY ANSWER, NOT COPY AND PASTE.

Thank you,

Dear Chinmay ji

As already written by some fellow ebayers here, ebay.in cant do much about this issue. They are just puppets in the hands of ebay CEO, John Donahoe! There is no point writing here anymore.

Meenu

Hello All,

Several of you have raised concerns around the impact of the new Feedback changes. One of the main concerns is centered around the removal of (a) Mutual Feedback Withdrawal and (b) Third Party Mediation i.e. ODR and the resultant loss in the seller’s ability to get negative / neutral feedback removed.

While I will try and address the specific issues that you have raised a little later, I would like to take a minute to stress on 2 points:

  • Earlier in January we announced that Sellers would no longer be able to leave negative feedback for buyers. This however does not mean that we will no longer be holding buyers accountable for their actions. Earlier I had alluded to the new Seller Reporting Hub which will go LTS in June. Depending on the reports that we get from sellers, eBay will take the necessary action against buyers. What’s more unlike earlier, through the enhanced Buyer Requirements, you as sellers will also be able to protect yourself against potentially errant buyers. So in essence, while the public face of buyer accountability through the Feedback system will no longer be there, you can rest assured that through the Seller reporting mechanism, we will be holding buyers responsible for their actions.
  • The second point that I would like to highlight is that in the new Feedback system, eBay will be considerably more open to removing Feedback that we believe is unjustified, extortive or abusive. We have in the past been very selective about this and I want to underscore that we will be investing in building our capability to do this. To summarize, we (eBay) will be removing feedback in a lot more cases that we did before, and also the feedback will be removed (not just de-scored).

Specifically on the concerns that that some of you have voiced, I would like to examine the situations in which the need for Feedback removal arises:

Situation:

  1. FB extortion / FB Abuse

    • Here I would like to emphasize that the strengthened Seller Reporting processes will allow sellers to report buyers for Feedback Extortion and Feedback Abuse. These reports will be examined and based on certain criteria, the Feedback will be removed.
    • In conjunction with the new Buyer Requirement filters (you can choose to block buyers who have been reported by other sellers), this provides a powerful tool to sellers to manage Feedback extortion & abuse.

  2. Casually / Mistakenly left FB

    • The new feedback flow provides an intermediary alert page to buyers who are leaving Negative / Neutral feedback. This should eliminate the problem of mistakenly left feedback.
    • For PowerSellers who have been on site for 12 months we will actually block the buyer from leaving negative or neutral feedback for 7 days.

  3. A Genuine Mistake on the Seller’s part that subsequently got resolved.

    • As mentioned earlier, the new system is designed to discourage mistakes. We truly believe that in the new system, genuine sellers will not be adversely impacted.

We understand that it is the role of the community members to play the role of a devil’s advocate particularly; we do think that these Feedback changes will protect the great majority of sellers from feedback abuse in the great majority of situations.

Hope I was able to address to your concerns and would continue to address them.

      Regards,
      Indraneel

Dear Indraneel,
Please answer my question.

What if a person create a new id with intention to spoil the reputation of seller and buy/bid on a item and then provide with Negative feedback.

Or buy the item but never make payment but do respond in the dispute console. He may write that seller is not co-operative and not responding or anything like using abusive language.

No action can be taken against such buyer as there will be no past record of such buyer or there will be no track record and also there will be complains/report can be found against such buyer as the id will be brand new id.

Its very easy to write sweet things here but when it come to face the realty then you will know how it feel when some buyer takes advantage of loop holes of eBay policy and I am sure this policy will force many sellers to say Goodbye to eBay for ever.

Deep Agarwal.

Dear Indraneel,
You mention the word genuine sellers.
Please let me know how ebay India defines genuine sellers?
is genuine sellers= powersellers who charge 12.5% VAT for 4% VAT item and do not give invoice or give fake invoice?

is genuine sellers= powersellers who charge 4% VAT for 4% VAT item and give genuine invoice?

Please answer this question in the easiest way possible.
I have closed my shop and reduced my listing only for the VAT issue because I cannot compete anymore with fake sellers who charge 12.5% VAT and do not supply invoice.

If ebay understands this its good. I am not going to say this with examples again and again. Its time to act which I have already done.
