I'm a fairly new seller on Ebay and deal mostly in informational products with resell rights. Due to the changes in ebay policies, i cannot provide digital download for the products that i am selling. Now, my buyers mostly belong to US,Canada and Australia. As such, i have to provide the stuff on CD ROMS in keeping with the ebay policies.
Now, i came across this link on the Ebay help page which says that i need to register with the Directorate General of Foreign Trade and obtain an IEC no. to export products. Now,being fairly new to the whole process, i need to know, what on earth is this IEC no. and how do i obtain one? Cant i just courier the packages directly? Is it absolutely necessary to obtain this IEC no.?
Those who are doing business with international buyers, please help me out.:( I would highly appreciate all the help.Thanks.
