I see that my sales dropped to 90%, I don't know why. I use mostly featured listing but still my sales are down. I put very competitive prices. If any sellers are also see the same thing happening to them, what they are doing to improve the sales?
I asked my selling manager, he said they will improve in coming days, but he didn't told me why they are dropped. When I see the COD items also not so great in sales.
Please share your experiences here, how we can improve our sales.
Thank you

I've looked at some of your listing (but not all) and they all seem to be Buy It Now items with only PaisaPay and online transfer as the payment mode. Correct?
When a customer wants to add your account as a beneficiary for online transfer, most banks use SMS to send a security code, but the Indian government is currently blocking all bulk and corporate SMSes.
So buyers who chose to buy your products and opted for online transfer will not be able do so. In such a situation, your items are probably listed again as unsold.
I'm not sure about this last point, that is, about automatic re-listing, as I have not attempted to buy a Buy It Now item during the current SMS ban period.

I would to comment only on the blocked SMS part.
How foolish as country we are and this stupidity can happen only in India. The High court has postponed the verdict on the issue but idiotically the SMS ban continues for 72 hrs bringing all trade and banking operations to halt. For what, and is there nobody answerable for this ??.
The world must be laughing on us for this and the CWG drama.

I guess the SMS part may be correct, then our sales will be down for more few days, what if the court continue to extend the verdict. But I buy some products on eBay using my ICICI bank online transfer, it doesn't ask for any SMS verification number. Never tried to buy using a debit card, may be you are correct, lets wait and watch and till then lets improve the listing numbers and the content of the listings, which I am doing right now 🙂
Thanks mate your reply made me feel relief.

yes its very likely that this is indeed a factor for low sales. This congress Govt. needs to go - but who will replace them ? Govt. bans books, blocks chinese phones, blackberry issues, screws up on CWG and blocks sms now ..and what not.

I haven't seen such pathetic situation since I started selling on eBay. I am not sure if the SMS is reason or something else on eBay. Wish to know what exactly the reason for the sales drop. Some one share your opinions please.

For credit card transfer and paying on eBay either by debit or credit card sms verification is not required. It is required only in online banking.
From what I am hearing SMS have been banned to prevent unsolicited communication happening between terrorist. They are given directives by their bosses via online messaging services. ( Just a guess i think so. Still its important)
My sales are low also because of an another reason. eBay delayed 3 continuous remmitances last month because of that our supply chain was ruptured. We are having hard time now procuring goods.
