See the main problem here on ebay India is that ebay's policies forces the seller to bend over backwards to satisfy buyers "unjust and unfair demands" and ebay also exploits sellers by DSR's and SNP's and other such useless and non-productive gimmicks. So till the time an unequal level playing field exists nothing much can be achieved, whatever you may write, whatever you do.
As a matter of fact I will even add that it is because of ebay's unfair policies that buyers are not getting a good online buying experience and for that reason the number of good and honest sellers is deceasing and "fly by night sellers" are increasing.

Raj,
this is true.
But still, don't you think that a person, purchasing an item from us, spending his/her money, deserves to get what he has paid for.
For instance, lets just take an offline scenario.
1) Lets say you go out in the market and purchase a glass of Juice. Now the vendor, gives juice of spoiled fruits for the reason, the last customer he sold his juice to, drank all the juice and demanded his money back because he didn't like it as per his expectations else he will call the cops. Does the last customers bad experience gives him the right to spoil your experience?
2) Same scenario, you & the juice vendor. This time juice vendor treats you very rudely, because cops are troubling him and asking him to adhere with the rules and regulations and close the shop by 8 PM. Does this gives him right to be rude with you.
Now just replace the juice vendor with you, police with eBay, good customer as your good customer and bad customer as your bad customer.
I know this all sounds very fancy, but just think about it, why to spoil a buyers experience because previous buyer spoiled ours. and may be the reason behind bad buyer is same, some "fly by night seller" spoiled his experience.
My idea is, to give buyers full worth of their money and if possible give them some thing extra.
Lets continue this with more inputs from other members. buy genuine mobiles at unbeatable price.

See we are here to offer the best services we can
but some time there are human error everywhere so we are (seller) are always ready to help
but
but
but
but
there are buyer who try to cheat us so in that case wat we get negative feedback or prob with DSR's and SNP's
i wud like to share a Recent case a buyer brought a Original battery from us
after receiving the same he complaint the battery is not working .so we ask him to check his mobile and charger if still he is facing the same problem then we can help(once a guy with the same prob check his mobile and then the problem was resolve) .He replied us in 10 min that his mobile is working well (so he never got his mobile and charger check as he replied in 10 min).So i told him to send us the battery back in the same condition and we wud give him replacement if found faulty... we told him clearly that we have all serial numbers so dont try to be cheat us by sending the old battery as we wont give replacement for the same....so after that he never mail and one fine day he gave us a negative feedback
so now this is clear the buyer was trying to replace his old battery for a new one as he had purchase from ebay
so now wat a seller can do in this case if we try to replace old batteries then we wont be able to do business
A genuine seller wont try to send defective good as he know if he send defective good then he wud be in problem he knows that ,but some time there are problem which a seller cant stop them like good getting damage by courier company or good lost by courier company or the good is having company defect and many more... at that time we try to help the seller as much as possible get a pick up give him free gift to compensate loss which he had spend on returning the damage goods
but if a fraud buyer try to cheat us then wat can we do

@reliable
Had you issued him an invoice with proper serial number mentioned on it, the situation could have been avoided. at that time, all you'd asked the buyer "please send the battery along with the invoice and you will send a new battery with new invoice (mentioning new serial)"
See there are some problems at our side as well, we guys don't issue proper invoices. this way we are giving chance to the buyer to take us for a ride.
I know i am not experienced in selling on eBay, but have spent almost 10 years in customer service industry and sales. it is very much possible to be aggressive on sales and at the same time provide excellent customer service.
I have had very abusive buyers to extremely polite buyers, treating all alike is the key. Also, don't turn down a buyer because previous buyer was abusive, you never know who is going to give the big opportunity. Happened with me just recently I sold an item on eBay, some guy from X portal was the buyer, usually portal charges 25K for registering the buyer, and i got registered for free.
Keep this alive.
