HELP: Difference between online listing and shop inventory?

Hello community members.Hope everyone is doing fine.

I had opened my basic shop a few months back.It is going on alright barring the decline of sales during January.I usually sell my items online.

When I was relisting,I came upon an option known as LIST AS SHOP INVENTORY.Well,I am confused.

What is the difference between listing items online and as a shop inventory? Are listing fees taking for listing as a shop inventory? What is the advantage in doing so like this?

Please do help me out.

in shop format you can list it for 30 days. Thats the advantage.

But there is a disadvantage that your listings will be below all the other listings which are in the buy it now or auction format.

If you donot have much competition of if you want to save listing fees than you can list in shop format for 30 days.
